At least nationally Decision to Leave gets the recognition it deserves. Of course Direktor Park won best director at Calmes but the movie itself unfortunately not.
Recently rewatched it, same verdict I had back then. When it actually features the friends or it is just banter with other characters, I truly like the show. When it is about the cases, It is a hit or miss, but the cases make up the majority of the show.
Great first two episodes, there is a lot of comedic gold so far, but no spoilers. The transition from normal family life to harsh spy life is also done great. Btw, the two female leads are 42 and 45 years old respectively while looking like 25-30 and also do not have the usual fake plastic surgery look, really impressive.
I just started this drama so my opinion might change but iv seen a lot of hate comments about this drama, but…
Would have been really good if it worked out like you said. I have learned over the years to never judge a show based on the first episodes or the first third of a show. If it starts bad, it usually will end up bad, if it starts good, there is no guarantee it will stay good.
Is the drama consistent in that it keeps getting better as it progress or does it get worse until the ending?
For me it was worse. Show starts with cute and witty banter between the main characters, then world-building and so forth, all great in my opinion. Once you get to the meat of things it falls apart.
Silly show overall. The banter and the chemistry of the main couple was actually great, everything else did not make much sense if you spent just a sec to think things through.
This was ok overall. The main couple chemistry was great, especially when the forced drama was not present, but unfortunately scenes between them became pretty rare in the last third, plus the big misunderstanding seemed silly. The feminist message at times was powerful, at times seemed silly and gimmicky. The overall narrative was all over the place, especially towards the end, and to me it seemed like the writer tried to fulfill the required 40 episodes by putting in rushed and known tropes into the story. In the end, I think a story about three females struggling to fight against their individual fate without all the court schemes would have been more interesting. Comedy was hit and miss, mostly miss for me. 6/10
My top 5 Chinese Dramas became Top 6 after watching this, 10/10. If of course has its faults here and there but that´s just nitpicking. The healing part of it, the dialogue, the main couple and so forth, I have not wished to be part of a group of characters as much since Reply 1988. Especially the two main characters, really role models in how you approach life and relationships.
It´s ok, some funny scenes, no huge drama, not to be taken seriously but just enjoy the main couple. At times a misguided attempt to gender reverse usual drama tropes.
They tried to identify Donglim by cross referencing who ever was in Tokyo in 82 and the other place in 83, and…
That part is ok, teaming up did not make sense. For 2/3 of the movie, he was hunting the spy, and without any way to really trust him, he teamed up with him, which blew up in his face in the end.
The main reason for the accolades, nominations, and awards, seems to be the fine reputation of the director, Park…
Nah. While it is among the weaker movies from Park, how he constructs his movies alone, even if you do not like the plot, elevates it above 99% of movies out there, not exaggerating.
I guess KDrama strikes again with the ending. I did not have time to watch the drama after episode 8, and wanted to watch the remaining ones after the holidays, but I guess I will only watch the last episode and be done with it.
Some people might argue that Do jun is only able to win in the financial/ investment market because he has lived…
You need exact dates to get the most of it, but unless you are somewhat ignorant, it´s not impossible. All that knowledge would have been useless if he did not have a rich grandpa who made him 24 million dollars as a 12 year old.
You can take that 24 million dollars and buy a credit default swap on the housing/mortgage market in 2007, in 2009 you would have multiplied it immensely, or 2000 dotcom bubble shorting the market and so forth.
Idiot rejecting badass B who already has the ability to use her status to go be with a mumbling girl just because…
Nah, his logic made perfect sense. Putting aside everything from his first life, she basically picks him because she thinks he is more talented than the eldest grandson but in the end she and her family would never directly oppose Soonyang and the grandfather, so they are not allies to be trusted. He did not necessarily turn it down because of the FL but because the offer, while short term good, is long term a bust.

Having the funds to do that, different story.
