Funny how films like this, Burning, the films of Hong Sang-Soo and other acclaimed ones always have low ratings…
Drama is mostly the same unfortunately.

Title Decision to Leave Spoiler
can anyone explain the ending? who is the killer? seorae or not?
She killer her first husband (mountain guy), killed the mother (or by her account helped her die just like her own mother, both were very sick) of the gangster who got conned by her second husband, the gangster killed the second husband but since there was a lot of blood and the main lead could not stand seeing blood, she changed the crime scene to be much more neat.

Another great episode, I hope they will keep it up:

- NGM as usual flawless in his scenes
- The way they solved the case was great
- I like that the FML is not just a spoiled brat who is getting educated on morals, rather she is someone good hearted who is learning to think about law in general and solving the cases outside the box.

Sounds like nitpicking. It's not a court drama, but a rom-com, so of course legal cases are not the focus here,…
Calling someone autistic does not define where they are on the spectrum, only that they are on the spectrum, so i don´t think I need to be careful in this regard.
"Present himself" is subjective, everyone noticed that he does not have the capacity which is why he was used by the real murderers in the first place. In such a setting, assuming he would be tried in the first place, the prosecution would need to prove both intent and intellectual capacity that he understood what he was doing. Furthermore, even the most heinous crimes in Korea usually get lighter sentences (one example for an article talking about this https://www.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20220728000644), yet here we are supposed to believe that the prosecution asks for 20 years and the judge grants it. The entire thing was completely unrealistic and played out for dramatic purposes.
Regarding real life cases, the article 10 is heavily criticized because many people, even when "just" being drunk, have used the article as a get out of jail card, not only in simple violence/murder cases but especially regarding sexual violence and rape, using the argument that a drunk person does not have the mental capacity to know what they are doing. This even moreso applies to the character in this drama.
And regarding EAW, i loved the show, but many have also pointed out how unrealistic the show is (both WYW´s high level of performance, and also the treatment of other characters on the spectrum), for example ESTAS Korea, so I would not use that as reference.

Not really, the genres are law/legal, hence why i point out that one should not expect it, that´s all. The fact that it´s not a court drama one can only know after watching it.

The fact that the leads nailed it, i pointed it out.

Also not really, the autistic character, considering the famous article 10 of SK´s criminal law, would not have been tried in the first place due to his lacking mental capacity, putting aside the obviously unrealistic lack of investigation into the case in the first place by the prosecution side. And the other cases had no real legal relevance, they essentially only served as setting for character and relationship development of the main and supporting cast.
On Touch Your Heart Sep 30, 2022
This is a drama solely done for fanservice, which is not a bad thing, just something to keep in mind while watching. The legal stuff is not to be taken seriously, neither are the seemingly obligatory obstacles, it´s a drama done for the scenes of the main couple and the funny interactions of the office workers.

So if you want to watch it, do yourself a favor and not take it seriously, and watched a few episodes at most at times, and not binge it.

Why do you assume this is a plot-hole? I'm sure as the show goes on they will tell his back story.
No problem. Like i said, i am with you on this, for me logical coherency and sense is very important but most others do not seem to care as much (seeing the rankings/ratings on this site), just in this case, whether it was on purpose by the writers or not, I think it´s pretty possible with the context given.

Just to spin this further, though I doubt the writers have thought as much about this in-depth, if you think about it, he is constantly getting questioned about rent by the landlord lady, meaning he has gone through most of his funds, he lives at his office, his suits can very well be from his past, his "office manager" owns a dry cleaning shop, so he can use that to clean clothes, he is eating cheap food, the car they are using belongs to the dry cleaning shop and so forth.
Of course it is idealistic, not realistic, for him to live this way, as a lawyer of his capabilities. We will see what event(s) motivated him to live like that.

Having said that, I know people who live a very frugal lifestyle, work a couple of months and then take couple of months off and live from their savings, and repeat that throughout the years.

Just finished it, it was very good, not what I was expecting to be honest. I thought it would be a quirky romcom, but it was more a healing drama than a straightforward romance drama and I think it should be watched as such since watching it only for the romance would lead to disappointment. It´s really about three characters (or 4 if you count NJ) who have to come to terms with their respective traumas and grow from their life experiences to live a more happy and fulfilled life, and the romantic relationship of the leads is just one part of that, albeit maybe the most important one.
Having said that, i think "Our Blues" ruined me in terms of healing dramas, so that similar projects pale in comparison. At certain times i could not help but feel at that "Our Blues" tackled some issue much better and with more maturity. Of course it´s a bit unfair to compare two unrelated projects but I still could not help it, especially since some character actions/motivations seemed too far-fetched in my opinion (one-sided love for 10 years for the SML, the manner of the breakup...)
Another point is that I think having it air on SBS automatically constraints the possibilities since it has to adhere to 1h per episode for 16 episodes without major deviations, and I think this drama would have worked even better on a station like tvN or jtbc because some themes in some episodes definitely needed more time to breathe.

Anyway:

- Choi Woo-Shik and Kim Da-Mi were both great. Former I have seen a lot of times already (I think first time in Tree with deep roots), the latter I saw for the first time, definitely not your typical actress, both acting-wise and her appearance.

- Production value was top-notch, cinematography was on movie level, OST great

- Supporting cast did a great job as well

For me, a very good 8.5/10.

Why do you assume this is a plot-hole? I'm sure as the show goes on they will tell his back story.
- He has not been living like this all his legal career, as it has been said, he was a prosecutor, average of a prosecutor´s salary is low six figures in dollars

- Based on age, he has at least a legal career of 15 years

- Based on the comments by other characters it has not been that long since he quit the prosecutor´s office and chose to become a lawyer like this

- Based on what we have seen so far, he is not above taking money from "bad people", the 1000 won thing is symbolic since he will represent anybody if the case fits his moral standards

I am with you btw on your general statement, i am also someone that can´t shut off my brain even while watching such a show (or a romance for example, which is why many high ranking romance dramas on this site are highly overrated to me) but i think in this case it´s not really a stretch to assume the above.

Great first two episodes imo, best I have seen in a long time. NGM acting so quirky gives me flashbacks to Chief Kim, it is a pretty similar role (very capable, competent, quirky and outside the box), and the setup is interesting as well. I don´t expect romance, seems more like a one man show (NGM show) and the people who react to him, plus NGM seems to choose mostly non-romantic projects in the recent years, either way I hope it stays this good.

- Dynamic between NGM and office manager is hilarious
- Seems like NGM did not lose all his muscles from the Veil, still looking wide
- I like that Kim Ji-Eun´s character is not just the usual rich brat who gets educated by the MC but she is competent as well, albeit has her priorities a bit wrong. Anyway, she looks really hot with that hairstyle.

First drama in a while i will follow weekly...

No, it was 16, doesn't bode well
Really? I remember it being 14 episodes from the get-go.
The ratings were great for the time slot, reached 2nd iirc.
And with 70 minutes per episode, you get the same runtime as 16 episodes with 1 hour.

Hmm wouldn't say it's an 8.9. The plot is kind of dumb - who is funding him if he charges people $1 and why would…
1) He was working as a prosecutor before, judging by his age 15 years or so, so he should have some funds, but obviously he is running out. In addition, he is not above taking money from "bad guys".

2) Since 2008 lawyers in Korea can request a jury trial for every criminal case, has nothing to do with how important it is perceived to be.

i have one question. i'm not connected with law in any point more than baisc knowledge and dramas (though i would…
Circumstantial evidence can still persuade the judge.
In addition, since the defendant had several offensives, the judge was even more so likely to rule against.
A jury can be more influenced with emotional arguments.

i dropped this a long time ago but i am a bit on a wookie drama binge atm, so i am kinda tempted to give it another…
I got up to episode 14 i think, and dropped it.
The main actors individually can really act well, but there was no chemistry.
Story is really stupid, i don´t expect high level intellect but some kind of basic logic and coherency should still be provided but over and over again characters make stupid choices, do not explain the most basic information, create misunderstandings and so forth.
Shiro Sep 25, 2022
It really depends on the drama and what it intends to achieve with its story.
There is for one the format of the drama (episodic, slice of life or overarching narrative), then the speed of progress (there are slow dramas like Liberation notes, or suspenseful ones like Stranger for example) and so forth, and for every type there are pros and cons to binging vs stretching out.

This was a very interesting watch, and unconventional for K-Dramas.
Lee Young-Ae, as usual, rocks her role.

Just finished it, overall ok, Kim Se-Jeong is incredibly cute and can act, I think we will see much more from her in the future.

The setup (contract marriage) has been done thousand times before, but surprisingly the first half was done in a fresh way in my opinion, had unconventional dialogues and events, that was also the half that more or less followed the webtoon closely. The second half went full into cliché mode and got pretty boring and ridiculous.

A great first half and a great Kim Se-Jeong, 7/10 for me at most.
Replying to leidramas Sep 25, 2022
it feels so soulless and done before. can only attribute its popularity to the cast and watchers who haven't seen…
Half true imo. I have watched the setup a lot of times before but i think the first half actually managed to make it fairly unconventional in different ways.
But the second half went into the clichés and tropes really hard.
Christian Sep 24, 2022
It´s no surprise, webtoons are generally allowed more leeway to tell unconventional stories because the required investment for production is not even remotely comparable to a drama.

But once a webtoon reaches a lot of popularity, drama producers at least have a certain percentage of security to think that it works (though of course dramas have more aspects than just the screenplay)
