Somehow, their relationship here reminds me of the connection between the Grand Princess and Dou Zhou's uncle in the drama [Blossom], in terms of being a princess and a scholar who eventually becomes a minister, and rises through the ranks in the imperial court.

Thank the gods, A-Mai didn't end up with him. ✧⁠◝⁠(⁠⁰⁠▿⁠⁰⁠)⁠◜⁠✧ I saw pics of her being forced to enter his harem, and that made me even more repulsed by the ML's actions there. All his sweet talk went down the drain within a few episodes. I was hoping for his character development, which didn't happen, but got worse. Anyway, I also agree; it's the right ending for them to go their separate ways.

Maybe you could give yourself some time before diving into this one. It's a good thing to rest your brain for a bit with all the fight and bloody scenes you've watched. I've only been investing in [Shadow Love] at this moment, so it's exciting for me everyday~ ^^

The story's pacing is normal imo, because all events happening are required plot devices to support upcoming plot twists and all. The story-building part is still ongoing, but it's getting more intense in the latest episodes. There are several cool action scenes in between tho..

You could try a few more episodes to decide too~
