I know, right? That was a splendid development, from the Xiao Yao in episode 1 to the Xiao Yao in the latest episodes. She went from covering for humans to protecting and working together with the demons~ X3 She probably thought, "Is he gonna eat me, too?" XD
It was truly sad. (•́ ᴖ •̀) I rejoiced for his character development in the earlier episodes when he witnessed the ugly side of human beings. In my pov, I think he deceived himself into thinking that all demons are bad, partly because of Pian Pian's control, too. She made use of his guilt and affection towards her, into a 'weapon'. And somehow, he looked like he gave up proving others.., like he just doesn't care anymore... whether it's human beings or demons... (I rooted for their potential romance, which ended without even starting... :'D ahhh)
Today, "Xiaoyao" is officially saying goodbye to everyone! Huanhuan has so much to say~ Time flies so…

It's been a while since I've felt so happy while watching a xianxia and it's really worth my time. The characters have their own agenda and while they change a bit due to Xiao Yao's influence or any other's persuasion, it proves us that human nature is just like this.
I love that they made Hong Ye as not the perfect demon king. He made mistakes (we all do, too), but what's important is that he took responsibility for his sins by his own choice.
Xiao Yao was initially just another bubbly girl making ends meet with her human father, but we see her grow into someone who has a clear mind about what's right/wrong, someone with a open heart, and someone who could protect those around her with her own hands. She's not afraid to face her past. That's a strong girl.
Despite whatever happened in the end, we can't deny how beautiful their journey was. It's the essence of the drama. For me it's a 10. 🤗💞
