If Xiao Yao could change the past, the present timeline would still exist, but a new timeline with a different future would be created. Like forming a branching "multiverse" where infinite variations of history and life can exist..

Referring to Ximena's explanation above, there were tiny changes made during her time travel, but no major changes were made, leading to the same tragedy. They weren't impactful enough to alter the existing outcome, hence they can be seen as one linear timeline.

I think the starting point should be 10,000 years ago, after reading both of your analyses. Only that way, there's a cause (XY and HY's first meeting and the betrayal arc) and effect (HY becoming an immortal and posing as the Demon King as a means to pay for his blood debt towards the demon tribe)...

Actually, I totally agree with your view. That's more likely, cuz when Xiao Yao travelled to a hundred years ago and 10,000 years ago, the outcome didn't change at all. So now I'm trying to deceive my brain that there might be a possibility of breaking the time loop and Xiao Yao making changes as she goes back. X'D That way both my brain and heart will hurt less lol.

Another thing I don't understand is (please hear me out.. :'3), when Xiao Yao travelled to the past, it's not like she just bent time, but possessed her past selves with present time consciousness..., right? Then where is the actual starting point? For example, Xiao Yao said the noodle dish didn't exist 10,000 years ago, but was only invented AFTER the time-travel by the present her and Hong Ye. If we go with the linear timeline theory alone.., how is that possible? Wouldn't that mean making some changes by introducing something that didn't exist before? :'D

I'm really curious about other viewers' opinions on this, cuz I can't fully grasp how this time reverse works...

10,000 years ago was their first life. Xiao Yao was the Dragon Lord (Azure Dragon) and the strongest demon among all demonfolk. The three great demons are acquainted to Xiao Yao since that time, especially Qiong Qi and Teng She. Hong Ye was a human prince. Xiao Yao met Hong Ye stranded alone at the beach after she had gone through her tribulation.

Xiao Yao doesn't remember cuz she's gone through reincarnation, while Hong Ye's memories have been erased by Xiao Yao (during the first life).
