Idk any of these actors. Is it worth watching? It doesn't look like a romance. I love great fighting scenes. Is…
Hi Virginia~^^ Personally, I really hope you give it a try, cuz every cast member delivered their roles so well. You'll be seeing fight scenes once in a while, like an ambush or one-on-one fights between characters, but less with Xie Huai An, as he's more of a strategist.
There are so many cry worthy scenes in this drama. When Huaian came back with reddened cheeks, only to find his…
Yesss, Noona! I cried a lot watching those flashbacks! 😭😭😭 He never thought he was abandoned when Bai Wan reminisce about her past, saying she was the one who had left her guardian, not the other way round.. 🥺
Cheng Yi's acting is stellar as Xie Huai An. I've been crying buckets since episodes 6 and 7 (especially the latter). He cries, I cry more, such as: - during his conversation with his late father while he was in a coma, - Bai Wan covering her big brother with a warm blanket as he dozed on his chair by the courtyard, before having a heart-to-heart talk, and... - when Huai'an sent his precious little sister off only from afar (cuz he hates parting ways)... ( ;´ - `;)
Props to the young actor who portrayed child Huai'an, too! 🥺❤️ Baby acted so well.
We also can't forget our Da Huang, the cute doggy, which led our protagonists to their late father's grave, built by commoners... (Da Huang always remembered its 'family', although many years passed... 🫶🏻🥹) I'm sure this gave Huai'an some peace and encouragement, as he realised that Chang'an citizens still have General Liu Zi Wen in their hearts.
Ye Zheng staring at her all day 😆
🫶🏻✨

You can also check @Xiang83's comment. It's a well-articulated summary about the plot (until ep4) and the main character, Xie Huai An.

Agreed about what you said. Either that or suffer a bit more before his end.. I'm sure our Huai'an has everything planned out. X3
Btw, his raspy voice is somehow unsettling.. perfect for his character.. :p
