I'm so in love with Sui Ge's character, as the battle-hardened, ruthless prince who still carries empathy and justice deep within his heart. Chen Zhe Yuan nailed his role here! Nothing more to talk about, Li Qin; she's the 'queen' after all! X3

I wonder if his problems are tied to the Pei household. From the recent episodes, we learned that he's considered to be just a distant member among all the Pei's. The following is just my assumption. So, his request for a pay raise might have been disrupted by other members of the Pei household, who sees him as just an insignificant person. He's actually the 47th (?), instead of the 12th in seniority. Being from a mere branch family, it is possible that his family alone are not that well-off; no more than just commoners. Thus, those of higher seniority or those who are closer to the main branch, most likely wouldn't want to see him doing better than them. Like they're just being petty.. Mr. Pei wasn't favoured since he was young, either...
As for Lin Yan, our ML, although he has enough wealth on par to his status, he doesn't really care much about how he looks or what he eats. I remember he did say that food is eaten to fill the stomach, and that is enough. That's why his meals always look and taste so frugal. Only after meeting the Shens, he become more lively and enjoy every meal he eats~
Are 'sugar-prints' (getting fingerprints from boiled sugar) in Ep19 even possible?? (ㅎ.ㅎ)
