I'm liking it. It's a slow burn (which is understandable given the characters), but there are small sweet moments…
It's precisely your last sentence that's really hindering with whether or not I'd enjoy this show because I'm one of those that's come into it with a years worth of build-up and anticipation. (Not kidding when I say FSM: RMP was in my top 5 upcoming from ALL of China) Also, with THAT budget there really isn't an excuse for subpar editing...
Having said that, I do get why you're enjoying it flaws and all. The background knowledge you have about the manhua being helpful I'm sure. It doesn't matter how shoddy the final product is, if I come into a show/movie as a fan of the original work (ex: book, webtoon, etc), I usually do give the adaptation the benefit of the doubt unless it lets me down, *coughs* Marry my Husband *coughs*. xD
Don't worry....you'll be revisiting ep 15 and 16 alot (at least that was the case for me)
I've seen some clips from "Atypical Family", but I've learned my lesson from past mistakes and am waiting for the ending before deciding whether to jump in or avoid, lol.
As for time travel OR the whole star-crossed lovers/reuniting I'm a fan of both tbh. As long as it's worth watching, I'm down. :) I mainly watch KDramas with the *occasional* Chinese or Taiwanese.

Lmao I completely understand my current predicament is that I have no self-control so I couldn’t help myself and watched the last 2, and I’m already considering rewatching the drama. Ughhhh it was literally THAT GOOD! 😫 I’m gonna miss Sol & Sunjae so much!!!🥺
Yeah, i'd say they do although probably like a 6/10 rather than a 9/10, in terms of chemistry. But it's there.…
That makes perfect sense. It's a "watch if you want, but it's not a masterpiece" type. Considering the hype, the $$$ spent, and the relatively stacked cast anything other than a 10/10 would lead to people jumping on the hate train, lol. Deserved or not. xD From what I gathered it's a mid xianxia. Fingers crossed for you that the ending doesn't make you want to throw your remote at the Tv. You can never be too sure with these xianxia's! xD

After having seen my fair share of the bubbly naive type (especially in Chinese dramas), a stoic leader for a female lead doesn't sound off-putting whatsoever, it has more to do with the lackluster feedback the show's been getting that has steered some (like me) off from watching. Though, if you're enjoying it thus far then that's great. As a fellow fan of subtly and kind gestures rather than grande over-the-top displays, I hope that the show continues to amaze! :)
Nope. No chemistry in my opinion, the cast lacks chemistry as well. Perhaps it's from my own watching experience…
I feel like after 20 episodes if it was going to improve it would've by now, lol. So... if you drop I'm not gonna judge you lmao. Definitely agree on at least giving a shot to the other two FSMM series! As for this one, I look forward to watching a 30 min edit that sums up the entire show! xD
I am very much liking the show so far. As far as chemistry is concerened I feel it is very much a personal preference…
I'm someone who typically prefers waiting for a show to finish before diving in, so the question was to get a general feel for the drama out of current watchers. Yes, I agree that opinion vary and are subjective (ex: feeling chemistry or not) but I have been swayed both in favor of and against watching dramas in the past from other MDL viewers.
I'm glad that you have found this drama to be appealing, but based off the clips that I've seen AND the feedback I got on here... I'll probably avoid starting this drama.

Fair enough. Though, I feel like 20 episodes in should've been enough time to at least have a semblance of the relationship "kick in". 6/10 doesn't sound all that enticing either, but to each their own. Thanks for your response! :)

Wow, gotta love the honesty lmao! Fair enough, both leads are typically hit or miss for me, but I was intrigued due to the high production costs for this drama. The general consensus seems to be that this is a underwhelming, so you've just saved me several hours worth of watching, thanks! :)

If you manage to come across a show that gives you the same kinda feels that this lovely drama did, let a girl know! ;)
