Haha, I know exactly what you mean!! I was SQUEALING when Rowoon appeared on my T.V. screen, but having background on the story due to watching the original version made me know better than to get attached, lol. xD At least it was cute... while it lasted.
I don't understand the writers, if you're going to introduce the romance subplot between Yeon Jun and Tae Ha just…
Because like the original Yeon Joon is taken over by Si Heon after for plot purposes. Also because 2023 Jun Hee knows and falls for Yeon Joon, and without that pairing the show wouldn't exist, lol. I actually didn't really hate the Yeon Joon & Tae Ha pairing because in the original version "Yeon Joon's" character had an even more tragic fate where he was gay, outed, and eventually driven to suicide. At least this one gave them a short, happy-ish moment before everything fell apart. If I'm being honest, the BL coupling where the feelings were mutual was probably the writers trying to be a bit more with the times, rather than the really tragic 2019 version. Also, showing that Yeon Joon's actually gay (or at least was romantically interested in someone else) hammers home that the true pairing is always Jun Hee & Si Heon, even if he's in Yeon Joon's body.
I remember this being my first KDrama. Awww the memories! ~~ Younger me had such a crush on both Goo Joon Pyo & Ji Hoo. I haven't and won't rewatch because 2023 me can't agree with a lot of the toxic behavior and cringey acting apparent in this drama. BUT back in 2009 (or 2010-11 when I watched) I giggled and swooned my whole way through watching. :) I like BoF for the nostalgia & significance in my life, NOT because it's without flaw.
And that is why consuming drugs isn't a criminal offense in my country. You get sent to rehab compulsorily but…
Your country's response to drug use is amazing, and in my opinion, infinitely more beneficial towards treating those with addiction. It's a shame that most countries hold no-mercy laws with extensive amounts of prison time and public shaming instead.
I'm actually really hyped for this drama to come out, but why is it only 1 ep per week?!?! Regular KDramas airing 2 eps per week has got me so spoiled. xD
At least it was cute... while it lasted.
