Funny enough he was my top pick for the male lead in this drama. Just based off scheduling/availability and this writers usual pick of the cream of the crop when it comes to top stars of SK for her dramas. If he confirms, I'll be bragging about this among my friends for being right! xD

Exactly! I genuinely struggled in the beginning due to my frustrations with her family you can literally scroll down a few posts below this one and see my original comment, haha. But here's my next comment 1 week later GUSHING about how amazing this drama truly is after binging both parts! xD

Commenting on Part 1 so that any new viewers that aren’t sure about checking this out OR have watched the first 3 eps and considered dropping (like I did) to hold out because from around Ep 7 onwards this will turn into one of the best drama watching experiences of your life. Prepare to see fleshed out, well acted, beautiful cinematography, and steady non-braindead writing that brings together an amazing experience with the lovely characters of Shaosheng & Buyi.
(Also, if SS’s family makes your blood boil in the beginning like it did mine… just fast forward their scenes and thank me later. xP )

Alright at this point after watching a few more episode, imma need one of you very kind viewers that's completed this (or seen further than me) to full-on spoil me on wtf happens to the mom and if she receives any kind of karma for her horrible treatment towards the FL???!
Also, on a side note is Yang Yang (the cousin) a green tea, or does she stay friendly with the FL all throughout?

Got it, thanks! My understanding from your description is that this drama holds its own then, correct? Plot-wise, acting-wise, etc... there's an appeal to continue beyond having a favorite actor in the cast.

Oh wow thanks for the thorough list! My favorite out of the songs would probably be One Last Kiss with Flavor of Life being a close second. Funny enough about the latter of the two it's apparently an OST for Hana Yori Dango my first ever J-Dorama... omg when I was scrolling through the comments and saw that mentioned I got struck by nostalgia similar to what the people were going through on the First Love teaser trailer page! Wow, I wasn't expecting that feeling listening to these songs today. Haha, thanks for the wonderful list and the addition of a new favorite singer being added to my rotation! :)

OMG you guys the leads had chemistry for daaaaays when they played the younger version of the leads in the drama "My Sunshine", I had no idea that they'd be paired together in another drama as the actual leads this time!! (Which I literally JUST rewatched!)
For sure will be checking this out after more eps are subbed to see if they still have that magic spark! :)

Oh wow, thanks for such an in-depth breakdown as to the many MANY different reasons this drama is a big deal! I've got to be honest my background knowledge on anything Japanese media/entertainment related is pretty weak, but you've definitely peaked my interest in checking this j-dorama out.

I was listening to Utada Hikaru's First Love while typing out this response, it's a good song. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, the song just has a way of making a person reminisce about their past. :)

So I just came across the teaser trailer on YouTube and it seemed like everyone was loosing their minds in the comments… does anyone know why?
