They are both talented actors so by definition they both can act naive or heroic characters. It is only natural…
Yes they had time and budget to think it through! I think the 8 year later is a smart decision, now let's see how they manage to fill those years and how the story unfolds!
Actually, for Alchemy of souls I was pretty convinced by the cast change because it was included in the plot from the start! Yes both actresses are completely different but their portrayal was the same so it was consistent. Just like when you watch a body swap drama, you know they swapped and it's ok
In fact I’m glad that we can have an ‘Eunseom’ that I can relate to and will be more realistic. at time…
I think this naive and selfless kindness and purity was in my opinion his force, that's how he managed to gather his companions even the more evil ones. I should rewatch 1st season to have everything fresh in mind tho For sure we will see a 2.0 Eunseom, wiser and more powerful, but I hope his kindness, as stupid as it is, will remain hahaha!

I have no doubt about their acting capabilities haha just venting my frustration on the casting change Yes you are right fortunately they managed to make sense here with the 8 years later scenario!
Lee Joongi and Song Joong Ki 's aura are completely different which will for sure be reflected on the character's perception (at least on my perception of the character)
Song Joong Ki has this pure/innocent/naive vibe while Lee Joongi has more of a heroic/righteous vibe idk haha just looking at the poster, I don't see Eun Seom nor Saya, I see someone more powerful, someone else. Actually, someone with the same vibe as Song Joong Ki is hard to find
For me I have the exact same feeling i got with the casting change of River Where the Moon Rises (2021) when Na In Woo replaced Ji Soo. On Dal was not the same anymore for me, a different character.
Same in Age of Youth 2 when Park Hye Soo got replaced by Choi Ji Woo. Somehow the essence of the character I knew and loved was lost.
Each actor has its own aura/vibe, and the way the portray the character... There is no chance to find a perfect recast
Same for Tanya, Kim Ji Won was the main reason I started watching it in the first place. Shin Se Kyung has a totally different vibe. The tanya I know is gone too haha
Well i really liked this drama anyway so I will watch, but I am very sad about the recasting...
Same ! When you are watching a drama and you found yourself focusing on the crooked lamp on the house wall?...…
Seems like it was sedated.. so basically it was stoned af haha honestly i freaked out every time it appeard on screen, I mean as you said it looked fake yet you could see it breathing idk the director is really something else
Same ! When you are watching a drama and you found yourself focusing on the crooked lamp on the house wall?...…
You forgot Kim's stuck lense, the sunglasses reflecting the airport when flying, the scratched chair, the stoned tiger, the black dot stuck in Danil's teeth,.... Loved the details! the ad placement was crazy though
Don't waste your time on this. Romance is barely existant, 18 episodes in and none of the ships have sailed yet.…
The romance is in every interaction they have, romance is not limited to kissing and holding hands, I feel the romance in every scene they have please don't say there is no romance. It is not a love story though, as the romance is a subgenre here, the focus is on the mystery/crime resolution and all it involves. Very interesting
