It is quite addicting although general plot is not original, contains standard elements of many costume dramas.
Main characters are interesting and relationship between them is well developed.
Regarding leads I tend to agree with some comments below that ML is very good here but FL is not the best choice.

Really enjoyed FL acting drunk, looked authentic, ML not so much.

Rating going down for ongoing dramas are common thing. Dramas often start strong and after initial excitement more balanced views prevail.
40 episodes will hurt rating a lot. I'd be interested to see percentage of people who dropped it.
As for it has everything, that's the issue for me - it has everything I've seen dozen times already i.e. it's not very original. Both leads have better dramas in the same genre.

'Coming of age' genre is very popular and crowded. There are still gems from time to time but most follow the same templates. 40 episodes is stretching bit to maximum though.

I've finished 5 episodes and I can't see myself watching it for 40 episodes. Will put on hold and check reviews after it finishes.

It seems to me that 90% of Chinese romantic dramas have cold talented ML and cute silly and handworking FL who chases ML.
Must be a cultural thing.

I love romantic dramas but I am tired of premise when gifted antisocial ML being chased by cute and silly FL.

I worry about it as well. 40 episodes for romance drama is a lot.

I decided to keep 10 in the end but I wanted to lower it after episodes 13 and 14.

I watched only 3 episodes but I find it hard to engage - FL tells gangsters lame excuses and they simply believe her.

I have been trying to finish this drama for a few years now, only few episodes left.
There is moments when it is fantastic - funny, touching and well acted. And then it gets boring again.

I don't remember many fillers as such. But there were many story arcs and characters that I wasn't interested at all (families on both sides, second leads, villain etc). Tbh I only watched it for main leads.

Drama is very uneven, has great moments but a lot of rubbish.
Fantastic OST though.

I enjoyed second leads and their personalities and story more than main leads. Good drama in general but towards the end my interest waned a bit.

Loved it but they should have ended it at episode 12.

Yes, I thought of this and Kuroko's basketball.

Sports story is a standout of this drama. Good progress and interesting characters reminded me of popular sports animes.
Romance seems to slapped on top and is underwhelming - full of cliche love triangles and misunderstandings that best romance dramas already learnt to avoid. I enjoyed last third of the drama much more after love story settled.
FL is a difficult case for me. I like the character and I appreciate the actress but I couldn't see her as love interest especially comparing to two female figure skaters.
Fast forwarded whole story of secondary couple.
