I am at episode 16 and it is getting worse and worse. Since I am over the half I thought to finish it anyway hoping it will get better soon.
But does it actually get better or is it still as frustrating?

I also just started watching The Best Thing and so far it is great. You are right, love story feels mature like how actual adults are talking. Also so far no stupid misunderstandings and over the top drama. Night and day comparing to Eat Run Love.

Very good movie with great cast. Good mix of drama and comedy. Everyone with young kids can relate.

I didn't like Dongbao's story especially in season 2 but it's very good in season 3.

Does season 3 has good translation on YouTube now? I started watching 1st episode there and translation was very bad.

It is direct continuation of the story. Previous events are often referred. There are also a lot of different characters.
You probably will be able to figure out what is going on but some references and context will be missing. I watched previous seasons but already forgot some details and want to re-watch it again.

I fast forwarded the rest too. Made it very enjoyable experience.

I was about to give up after amount of cringe and cliche in first episodes but after reading few comments about main leads I continued. There is great interaction between leads that I enjoyed a lot. Pity the rest of the drama is of such low quality.

It shocks me as well that it's still extremely common in Chinese romcoms.

Avoided many cliches of romantic dramas.
Perfect length.

It was one of the funniest dramas I watched for first 3 episodes. I am half way through and it gets more boring the longer I watch. Some great jokes here and there but plot becomes very formulaic.

Rock paper scissors joke is very funny!

Sad to see that tripping and kissing is still a thing in Chinese romcoms
