On Four Hands, Two Sonatas 1 hour ago
I think Pio is a complex character but also interesting because it's boring when main characters are always so nice and flawless. His problem is that he has no integrity because he didn't learn this at all. He comes from a family who values someone not for their talent but for the praise they're gonna get. Pio grew up thinking that being recognized by his grandfather and receiving praise should be a reward for his hard work. He didn't learn to love piano, even if he said that he loves music and playing the piano, his music is soulless and a reflection of himself. His technique is perfect because he only mimics; he's not feeling music. Enjoying music is not the same as feeling emotions when listening to music. On the contrary, music for Jeongyo helps him regulate his emotions and he learned from his mom to play with passion. He often says that he doesn't think about anything when he plays, whereas Pio is thinking too much. Pio already expects praise, recognition and pressures himself to meet expectations. Music fills Jeongyo up, his emotions rise, they soar through his music because it was something that made him stay strong even when he was suffering. For Jeongyo music is love, it's a reminiscence of his mom's love, but for Pio, music is pain. That's why their dynamic worked so well, as Jeongyo was filling the emptiness within Pio and Pio gave him love when his life was at the lowest. I'm not talking about romantic love and create another debate, whether it's platonic or romantic, love is still at the center of the story. Jeongyo is sensitive and Pio gave him something that he needed at a moment when he was almost giving up. Pio is scared of love. What he feels for Jaein isn't love, and he can't receive love either because he doesn't have a good example of what it's like to love someone. His mother is toxic, his grandfather doesn't love him, his teacher seems to have no affection for him (from his pov) and in the end, even when he gets the glory, he's still so empty. And i think that's what is missing in his music: love. If he had accepted Jeongyo's love, he would have understood his music and why he was so good at playing the piano. Him searching for Jeongyo for 9 years after taking credits for his work is him looking for love. He also feels guilty, yes, but the piece that is missing in his music is actually Jeongyo, and it explains why playing with four hands works so well for them. But now that Jeongyo has moved on, i wonder what will happen to Pio and their relationship, i'm definitely intrigued!

to be fair, I wouldn’t classify this a romance genre. and the very ending seemed like just a setup for a sequel.
I never said the genre was romance, just said i didn't like the romance part in the show. I didn't mind the last scene which was, in my opinion, for comic relief and not a setup for a sequel. Though what i didn't like much was the last two episodes, everything seemed too convenient and easy. It was underwhelming.

Title Stand Bi Me
all four guys give off way more gay than bi vibes. They clearly prefer men by far, and it’s obvious that guys…
This is not a reliable way to guess if they're more leaning towards the same sex or the opposite sex and it's a very backward way of describing preferences in bisexuality. Many of them have clearly stated either gender is fine to them and it's not more than the other. But in this case, their choices are limited, and if the people they're more interested in are people of the same sex, it doesn't mean they are more "gay" and the other way around doesn't mean they are more "straight". It just happens that the people who caught their attention are one gender or the other... I'm sorry, but this is such a weird take

It was a fun show overall, but it lost some points for that ending. I didn't like it much and the romance part was predictable and cliché, kinda disappointed with how everything turned out. I would have liked it better if the daughter knew he was her father all along, it would have been way more fun to see how they would have worked that out together, but oh well. It's a 7,8 for me, but could have been a 8.5.

I'm still enjoying this! I do wish he would have told he's her father by now, it would have been fun to play with that in the remaining episodes.

This was absolutely amazing! I love psychological dramas in general so it was definitely my cup of tea! I really loved the acting and pacing of the story, the way it played with the character and the audience, so good! I watched it in less than a day, it was captivating from beginning to end!

Really nice! I think Taxi Driver did it better, but i really liked the deep dive into the education system in SK and the direction the story took. There were some things that could have been developed better i guess. Sometimes i wasn't a fan of the way some episodes ended, but honestly, i really enjoyed it!

Overall a nice show, even though i was skeptical about the solo leveling feel to it at first! But it was very funny and always put a smile on my face. The characters were really endearing when we got to know them better. Took a few points out for a few easy writing choices and the forced romance that felt like a useless piece of parsley added only to decorate a good dish. Anyway, if there's a season 2, i'll surely watch it!

So sorry but not even one of them is good looking in this drama ;((. I'll watch for the plot
That shouldn't be your main reason to watch a show what 😂

First episode was a little bit flat with a lot of clichés, but the second episode really interested me! Lee Jun Young is doing a good job, and i like the father-daughter duo. I hope she'll know soon who he is, it's going to be fun!

they wont, as he is literally in military, people whining because of one episode where we see her for several…
Right!! I don't understand why it bothers them this much that we don't want to see any romance in this show? It's not allowed to have different tastes now? Even if it's just a little, sometimes we just don't want it at all lmao it's not a crime

Sorry but the romance plot feels so forced and honestly it's ruining the momentum of the show ngl. It can't even…
I agree. I don't mind a little bit of romance when it's done properly, but here it didn't bring much. It's like they just put this trope there for no reason. The show is fun though, i hope they don't use these romance tropes too many times!

lol, so you will stop watching because potentially bit of romance? okay...
I was specifically answering to @moonchild's comment, to say yes it's possible to lose interest of a show because of that. But we're all talking hypothetically here, even OP. From what i understood in their comment, they're wondering if there was any romance in the original work and if this new character was a potential love interest. Sure it seems a bit dramatic, but some people just want to make sure before going any further with a show. I agree though, that we don't know yet, and it's too early to tell!

I mean if you start a show not looking for something with romance and there's suddenly romance in it, it could make you stop watching if it's not what you like. Everyone has different tastes, it's not that deep.
