I don't know if this is a script problem or an acting problem. Uncle Jim is a very flat character with little…
I was thinking about this and tale of 1000 stars. I feel like Phupha was a similarly sort of cold character BUT earth managed to convey such subtle emotions with him? So I don’t know…
I’m really loving this more and more with each episode. I don’t know if mix has hypnotized me but Wen feels like such a refreshing character- who is out, confident, assertive, supportive, warm…
Alan seems in contrast very stiff and maybe more logic brained. With what the friend hinted at, it seems Alan did something that Wen found unforgivable, I’m guessing something he did on wens behalf with “good” intentions but which felt like a betrayal or breach of trust or maybe controlling. Maybe something to do with wens job? Because why was he miserable in ep one while “celebrating” his promotion? I dunno…. I can’t wait to find out 😎
Also if Gaipas mom is sick or dies and my dude loses his mom and Jim rejects him… I don’t wanna see sweet Khao go through so much!!!
I am in love. The pacing, plotting, cinematography, score and everything are so elevated compared to most Thai bls… p’aof is an artist! And it’s so refreshing to get an ADULT story. Maybe some are disappointed but I think the way our attention is dispersed among these many characters with very real lives is great!
I am a huge earthmix fan and am just so happy to see them shining! Mix’s eyes. I mean. Imagine not falling in love with him? Impossible.
Also, as a disabled person, I’ve been quite nervous about how that aspect of the story would be represented. And so far I’m pleasantly surprised. It’s interesting that P’aofs next series will also have a disability focus. I really love him!
I know that Moonlight Chicken is supposed to be the DRAMA drama of this year but is it even possible for one of the characters to cry as much as First cries in the show???? Lol
I saw this interview where Snoopy talked about having watched all existing Taiwanese BL to prepare for this show and how they gave him butterflies and I feel like that must be part of why his chemistry and comfort with Andy are really resonating! Can’t wait to see how they unfold
This show has some issues with plot, it really feels like more of an emotional character drama than the fantasy curse thriller the marketing made it out to be… but I’m not complaining because khao and first are soooo moving. There was a behind the scenes where first talked about how khao is so emotionally present and open in their scenes that it makes it easy for first to respond emotionally, and that realllllly comes through. I get why first cries so often in their Re enactments!
Also, khao is a big fan of gun, and I feel like khaos acting chops are so incredible, on par with gun. The scene this ep in Akks room really reminded me of the scene with white and Sean in Not me in blacks bedroom when white is just actively listening… so emotionally.
Really hope we get a happy ending, and the eventual scene when Akk professes his feelings to Ayan is gonna be SO good after all this angst. I sense lots of tears in our future
I truly cried every ep of this show. I think it’s the responsibility of all the ppl who consume Korean queer content, who ship their kpop idols, read manhwa, etc, to watch this show and understand the REAL barriers lgbt+ folks face in Korea from their government society families etc. annnddddd to see the strong connections and love between these couples! Wah I love them all
I’m starting to really like this show. It’s a show about teens so it’s being true to how messy and insecure teen relationships can be. But it’s also capturing those special first love heart fluttering moments, like staying over at your first boyfriends house and feeling super excited and overwhelmed. Excited to see how this plays out!
For those feeling this maybe changmin & JH situation is ambiguous, check out the posts under the hisman hashtag on Twitter. Tons of translated clips from a live they did last night that make it very obvious they are a couple :-)
It really bothers me when it’s repeated by the straight people in the show over and over that there is no parent who could accept or understand right away… actually there are! and them making it all about themselves is their own problem. I understand cultural norms and forces are severe, but still!
What an amazing and important show, but damn them English subs are breaking my brain. I feel as though there definitely…
I came here to say the same thing! I feel like my brain is breaking like I’m trying to solve some linguistic riddle in real time to get what’s going on 🫠
Why does it feel like Jim’s slow acceptance of Li Ming’s autonomy and lifestyle reflects Jim’s own journey to accepting and healing himself??
so lovely!
