I love that everyone agrees him not getting to eat the crab is a tragedy kdjhgs even looking at what Japanese viewers are saying on twitter I saw a lot mentioning the crab
The mother that is worried you'll be alone... who means well but can't understand how you can be happy without a partner.... I understand that well. My own mom has changed a lot since then, but I remember how that feels.
What a charming movie! It takes a little bit for all the characters to get up to speed, but it's fun to watch - and the latter half is even more fun! This really impressed me! And the ending leaves you with a good feeling~
Yuko's outfits looked more natural in the 2013 drama - like, they were accurate but also looked like something she'd really wear, where this actress it's just so.... costumey? (I can only say the makeup is better here). That being said, the acting and budget looks better and i'm familiar with the screenwriter so i'm looking forward to seeing what they'll do here! Praying they do xxxHolic justice!
This is already so relatable! I love it. I hope they keep it up! Though, since this is written by Yoshida Erika, who wrote Cherry Magic and specifically wrote Fujisaki as aroace in the drama, I have faith they'll do a good job here <3
This left no impression on me ttp I can't even work up the energy to hate it. Though I feel like I should give a tw about something, but have no clue if people will consider this a spoiler so:
my only note for this drama would be: i wish they toned down Hye Jin's overly cutesy talk/giggles/whining once she and Du Sik got together kjhfs it was cringe and just 1 pitch too high i'm sorryy. this was a super warm and sweet drama i loved it, but that's just the 1 thing i couldn't deal with quite so well (even the other villagers were aware of it/sick of them being So Sickeningly Sweet but pls drama if you're going to practice self-awareness maybe spare us a bit instead lol)
I keep being impressed by how they're portraying DID honestly. Like I said before on here, even just referring to K as an alter, knowing it's DID and its connection to childhood trauma is very good imo. And now we have more moments like: the psychologist suggests they dig into Ryu Soo Yeol's childhood? K gets really upset and refuses to participate anymore. When Ryu Soo Yeol was hypnotized and saw a corridor full of doors I was at first curious if this is how he pictures his inner world where his System resides - it turns out to be symbolic for lost/sealed memories, but I do wonder if K or another alter will try and stop him if he tries to open that mysterious last door that seems to hold the trauma...
The co-fronting/co-consciousness moments are good as well, I think those scenes (particularly when they're fighting other people) are interestingly shot so as to show more what they picture is going down as they co-front vs what's really going down, which is 1 body not 2 fighting. Like, even thinking of the early eps, there's no way Ryu Soo Yeol was actually able to go upstairs WHILE K was fighting, he probably fronted and did that after K was done, but he still probably thinks of the order of events in that way nonetheless (esp considering at that point he was unaware of K in that way)
honestly the fact that they know this is DID, ask him if he's aware of some trauma in his youth, and refer to K as an alter, is already so good in my opinion. NTM the fact that K is a good alter, which is worlds ahead of the west which thinks that DID/alters belong in horror movies as some ~secret evil~ living inside of you (Split--). These are just 2 dudes sharing a physical body
I will say I saw it coming and i'm frustrated that these movies always do this.
Though I feel like I should give a tw about something, but have no clue if people will consider this a spoiler so:
