I don't get it. Why they choose the title Ballerina when there's already a k-movie named Ballerina???😑😑
yeah like, while it might be a coincidence, and they're allowed to use the same name.... i wouldn't say i'd be super surprised if they ARE aware of Ballerina and take some inspiration.... they did it before to The Villainess when making John Wick 3, so clearly they're paying attention to k-movies
I'm thinking the reason Du Cheng isn't around Shen Yi as much as S1 is on purpose in order to drive Shen Yi to consult creepy doctor Fang Kai Yi.... someone who he thinks Gets what he's trying to do and doesn't stop him.
BQ wasn't entirely upfront with FY, but he did everything for a good reason. Them meeting in the present day at…
Their friendship is real! You can see he was heartbroken when FY died/dragged the villain to hell. Even though they originally just had an agreement, you can tell a real friendship formed . If he was really just using FY he wouldn't have done all this or been so upset, because he already got what he wanted - FY's alchemy (he gave it to him so their hybrid alchemy could suppress the hellfire consuming the painting/hurting BQ). In the present day BQ also kept saying he was waiting for a friend. There's also hints in the song that played in that final scene in the past/in the show's credits "The past is quietly waiting to be unsealed. It reminds me of my intent." I wish the show didn't end right when FY got his memories back, but BQ seems to have arranged all of this because he wanted his friend back - he's been waiting for him this whole time.
So at the end BQ said „You were behind all this.“ Does he mean this in a good way or bad way. I am confused.
BQ wasn't entirely upfront with FY, but he did everything for a good reason. Them meeting in the present day at his bar, and presumably all the guests that came in, were all on purpose. BQ was trying to unseal FY's memory, all while gathering the ingredients for Sober Demon from everyone's gifts. Once FY drank it in the last episode, he finally remembered everything and realized BQ had set this all up.
ANOTHER GOOD REASON FOR THAT KISSMany are citing the fact that the manga illustrated the kiss the same way, and…
FR! Agree to both - it's accurate to how it was done in the manga right down to the shots and angles, and accurate to where they are in their relationship. In the manga, it takes more time before they kiss deeper, Taichi gets really shy about physical intimacy but he's not unwilling . It'll come, but idk why people think their first kiss needs to be more... it was a confession kiss Kohei wasn't going to go far
that's not how translating works. it's more than just literally translating word from word. it has to make sense…
Except, see, if he's swearing at him, the translator should have him swear at him. That's pretty basic and it helps the translation stay true to his characterization. Baka is also a very well known word, and to pretend like he's not calling a character stupid is... well, stupid. It's not about the translation needing to be 1:1 literal, it's about it needing to be accurate to what's being expressed - not the same thing. I think my examples actually show quite well that there were often better choices in English for what the characters were expressing within the context of a scene, and they didn't choose them.
