Yes, especially those scenes with XH jealous looks. The way he glares at SYR whenever he sees JL with him is just so... His glare is killing!

This is the best Cdrama I've watch this year. Most Cdramas of this year were disappointing. But this one makes me wish the episodes was longer than 40.

Those two people disgusts me. One time she's gentle when she's with him, and another she treats him as her servants. I'm also not sure how to describe their moments together. Our main couple is the best, their romance is based on mutual feelings, not some obsession. Wish SYR and Wanning's screentime were replaced with SJY and YSJ time together, if SJY didn't leave the drama too soon, they would have been an epic couple.

Yes, Wanning already said she liked him during her conversation with JL.

The moment he killed his wife because of his sister and mother, he could no longer step away. When he speaks his mind to Wanning, he's either punished by kneeling down for hours or slapped multiple times. What a bloody romance!

As for their back story of how Wanning fell for him, some of those were shown in episode 32. If you've reached episode 32, you ought to have watched it.

The emperor and Duke Su tried to cut some of his wings by sending him less rations for his army. But that move had little effect, hence, they had to ally with Great Zhao in order to ensure absolute victory should king Cheng rebel.

That said, how did king Cheng build such a military? I thought the imperial court was always wary of princes who has massive military lest they rebel someday, but why was Cheng an exception?

It's just sad that JL maid whom she regarded as a friend, confidant, and sister died in the process. That scene was really saddening, I feel sorry for JL, she lost another important person to her in all these madness, yet again.

Of course, she's pretending. She's always been wearing the mask of a kind and pitiful person, it's a good thing JL took off that mask exposing her true face in episode 28.

I put this on hold upon completing episode 13. Before I continue watching, is the ending a happy one?

This might just be the highest rated historical cdrama of the year on MDL.

We are quite similar in that aspect. I waited till 20 episodes here before binging, and to my surprise, I binged all 20 in two sittings. This is the type of drama that makes you want to watch all episodes in a sitting.

As the saying goes; "Misery loves company." SYR and Wanning are the perfect couple in that aspect.

I think he's beginning to forget his initial aspirations, which is why XH reminded him of their childhood, and how kind he was back in the day.
