First half of the drama was perfect second half is not bad but had way too much potential the biggest problem in this show is it had great characters and great actors/actresses, all with great synergy with one another. but they lacked a good scriptwriter to give them all justice 3 dimensional characters in a 2 dimensional script it is so sad cuz the characterizations are just soooo good! things i would have loved to see more of is rather than explaining the stories of every character, we could have had the characters flesh out their history through their actions we had soooooo many opportunities to show each character and make them interact and those interactions would have been gold, but instead the writers chose to separate every two characters in a side plot and have them explain anything related to them rather than showing it, the prime minister and grand tutor, u wouldnt have guessed how deep their history is with how shallow their scenes were 90% of the drama the saddest part is that this drama had over 10 interesting characters!! and the acting and chemistry carried too!! and they managed to fumble all the interactions! putting that aside, since the characters were good it was an enjoyable watch and the first half is a solid 10, second half 7.5 but overall definitely a must watch

exactly! was she annoying at the start? yes! but once she saw him for who he is, she fought back with all she has. and when she knew her father and brother were dead, she didnt just cry and give up, she utilized everything she had to get her revenge and protect susha. so i like how she developed till the end

this is not just an enemies to lovers done right, it is an amnesia done right too (in the sense that it doesnt just change the tone of the whole drama in that annoying way most amnesia dramas do)
chen zhe yuan, sorry I doubted you can pull off the general role, cuz he portrayed that role soooo welll. him relying on his eyes + eyebrows most of the time was such an amazing detail to his character and suited him too well. also that walk 🔥
what I absolutely love about the Suige/Yixiao pairing is that they are both such great people on their own, and them together adds their strengths , it doesnt diminish the power of each. they always have something to add to the table and can work separately at any given moment. also, they have the wisdom that comes from their experiences. they know when to push and when to hold back at any given moment, which is rare to see happen consistently in a drama
chen he yi and qin tian yu did such a GREAT job portraying the Jiuxu brothers!! their portrayals of their characters was very enjoyable to watch. them along with xia meng (feng xiyang) made that whole arc soooooo enjoyable

why did it become so boring? does it get better? I feel like the whole arc of them taking the siblings' identity is so annoying and not well used. It would have been more fun if the siblings were actually a part of the plot and you can see their dynamic within the academy with other disciples and how they navigate pretending to be siblings while actually dating or sth like that. but now it is just a super dull arc with no interactions whatsoever with their setting. And it is getting super boring now. Will the drama continue with this pacing or will it get better? Also the scenes with ruling and the snake are becoming dull as well. It feels like we have been getting the same scenes repurposed over and over again. Like nothing is actually happening in terms of plot. just the script writers dont want ruling to be seen as bad while making her have sketchy alliances, so it is pretty anticlimactic. and that snake is just sooo docile and no situations for actual development. So I am not sure what am i watching right now. Does it get better?
