I love how Tangzhou healed what YingYuan did Yandan was too naive and didn't understand what YingYuan did, she thought he was too cruel and would never choose her or love her enough. However, when she saw Tangzhou being put in the same position and choosing her, and she saw the consequences on his action and how many people were involved and suffering, she understood exactly what responsibility is. And Tangzhou only had the sect to worry about, while YingYuan held such a heavier and bigger responsibility. It made her understand what she has been missing and at the same time Tangzhou sacrifice made up for what YingYuan wasnt able to do..
Yumo's glow up after growing up is such a pleasure to watch! I used to find him too naive and dependent, but seeing him handling the mountain affairs and giving Yandan the life that suits her (without trespassing her boundaries or making her uncomfortbale) shows how much he matured And the turtoise reveal was such a humorous add on to the cast Also seeing Ying Yuan in his mortal persona is such a breath of fresh air, his humor and carefreeness shines through and it is such a stark difference to his position in the heavenly relam
You can use the tough love argument if her Mum was cold towards her, gave fair chances to her and Yang Yang and then get mad.. Etc But what her mother is doing is straight out degrading and demeaning. Yangyang wasnt even raised by her own spiteful mother and yet they left Shao Shang to be in such conditions, had the audacity to just critize her, humiliate her, and favor Yang yang on her without giving her a single chance to be worthy. Even Shao Shang was thinking before entering the palace how her mother was too late in teaching her palace etiquette. Isn't that the basics? To teach her how to greet every elder? How to speak? How to address people so at least she would look presentable whenever? But no! She just shoves books in her face and call it a day and then goes around picking on her and humiliating her. Shao Sheng told her in the end "I have my pride too, I want to live in dignity". Like that is how badly her mother tarnished her reputation!
At Ep 6 and her mum is pissing me off so much!!! So freaking biased! You abandoned her! Knew of her suffering and left her! Gave her no backing and no mother figure! And yet you have the audacity to judge her, repent her, and make her feel bare in your presence! And you dare say you wany fairness!???? You are the freaking reason she is like that and instead to being her backing, and understanding her, or at least try and listen to her, you immediately assume she is a bad apple that needs your military discipline to set straight!? So annoying
Just finished it, and honestly it has been an enjoyable watch, but it could have been so much more.
I love the main leads and most of the characters, and with this setting and characterization, we could have waaaay more interesting plots/conflict and scenes. However, half of the drama was lost on the ML father (and his character wasnt as interesting to hold that much screentime). The 'Wow' factor of the climax was lost in between the wrong timing of events. It just feels like whoever wrote the script, had too much to tell, that they focused more of telling, and less on delivering the story with the potential it holds. (and ended up focusing on all the scenes that didnt need to be focused on)
Anyways, I dont regret watching it and will probably go back and revisit some scenes. But, it is unfortunate how much perfect of a drama this could have been with just better storytelling and more focus of the interesting characters and their potential to the plot.
I adore this drama, but I really wish they focus more on the Wuxia-side of the plot Its too much politics-centric for such powerful martial artists and the politics are getting repetitive if it continues in this way, especially without any real punishments placed
Does anyone know where can I find a summary for Season 1 main events? I have already watched it a while back but forgot some of it and I want a quick refresh before starting this season
