Amazing! 8th time rewatch! 🀩🀩🀩 9th time rewatch on moon bar ? 😁
My family is severely judging how many times I have watched it, they think I'm insane but I have no regrets! this drama has ruined all other shows for me anyway so what else would I possibly watch? 🀩 and yes I must check on the moon bar!
On Till the End of the Moon Aug 6, 2024
I'm just here to say I have still not moved on! I still think of this and listen to the OST daily lol and Im getting ready to watch it for the 8th time at the end of this month, it's my birthday then so using that as an excuse for allowing myself to watch it again lol. I love it so much.

I'm not entirely happy with the video https://youtu.be/jIC7SIK7ZC0 but I still wanted to share just because I was brought to tears while making it! lol no kidding though, I love these two so freaking much, they're bringing me to tears all the time whether sad or happy tears and I'm not even someone who cries easy but forever crying for them and especially for Tantai Jin! I am not okay! This show ruined my life lol.

That's why I ended up dropping this drama more than halfway through. I couldn't deal with her betraying Tantai…
Yes this is frustrating, I especially felt this on my first and second time watching but each time I've watched it since I've grown to like her more and more and I do understand her actions more, it's mainly episode 21 to ep 26 where her actions can't really be defended, but in saying that, as annoying as her betraying him and thinking the worst of him was, and believe me I actually hate her in those scenes, but it actually led to some of the greatest scenes in this such as the scene in episode 21 when they're talking in the camp when she says the horrible things to him, the directing, acting and score at that part are just amazing and you really feel the heartbreak coming through screen, and same with the wedding scene and the scene in the dungeon after the wedding etc. so as much as I hate some of her treatment to him, it's actually hard for me to say whether I would change it or not because it led to some of the best and most heartbreaking scenes in it and I mean at least she does try to make amends for this treatment, such as in episode 28 when she "repays" him and in episode 33 - 38. I just wish she would have apologized to him, I was waiting for that until the end but it never came.

This show had potential. but they turned MC into an emotional wreckage, who's every decision was made around him…
I think you just didn't get it, the show is pretty much a gothic tragedy so there will be a lot of emotional wreckage, it just added to the deep sympathy that we feel for Tantai Jin, he also loved Susu so much, again this is where the story gets quite gothic, he literally only feels emotions and is alive because of her, she is the only person in the world to him which makes perfect sense when actually following his story. Tantai Jin also becomes not only the most physically strong character in this but also becomes the most mentally and emotionally strong character in this by far, he literally overpowers the original DL and fate at the end due to the mental and emotional strength he has developed, his development was amazing.
Also Susu said she wants him dead in episode 5.........she saved him many times after that, she said that early on before all their development so you can't blame him for ignoring that later on.
I'm also against "simping" and would be the first to sign out of a show that had that but that isn't what it was, it is a gothic deep love story which means lots of pain and obsession, and I can totally understand his reactions and how much he loves her because again she is literally the only person in the world to him, not because he is "simping" but because his life literally started with her, she literally stopped him from becoming the DL, she is the first person to care about him and love him.....I mean I could go on but if I have to explain all this, I think it just means you didn't get the point of the story or characters or that maybe it's just not your cup of tea which is fine. This show is definitely not for everyone.

Well yea but that's how Chinese dramas are especially the Xianxia dramas, they have endings like that, in fact Chinese dramas used to have way worse endings, their endings used to be so bad I stopped watching them for years so overall these endings are a big improvement lol. I see this as a happy ending so I'm okay with it. Though I can't disagree with what you said about the FL lol since that's what you were talking about I agree, it's annoying indeed, especially given that Tantai Jin is literally the kindest purest character in this and he never harmed anyone who didn't try to harm him first and yet she constantly thinks the worst of him, with no proof and she is the one who always causes the misunderstandings in the first place........ugh this would be what I hate about her character, still love her though. You said you stopped at 35, you will be glad to know she FINALLY trusts him despite accusations in episodes 37 and 38.

I haven't been on here in the past month, my laptop hasn't been working so I just haven't been online, I just wanted to say it is most certainly not because I have moved on from this, I have done everything BUT move on from this, I'm even watching it yet again lol. I am more obsessed and in love with this with every re-watch. This is my 6th time watching it in the last 5 months, my family says I need help lol they might not be wrong but I don't want help, I just want to keep watching this drama again and again lol. I actually cry more everytime I watch it too, this drama is everything.

He will return to life soon enough, he's cultivating in the shell so it's really a bittersweet ending with a promise of a happy ending. Also I feel like you need to watch the drama more than once to really understand the FL. On my first watch I didn't like her very much mainly due to her being cruel to ML often but with each re-watch I've grown to like her more and more, yes she was cruel to him at parts and those parts I hate her, but she also did a lot for him and a lot for the story, so I've grown to love her while just hating some things she does. Again I really feel like she grows on you, so if you only watch it once then you won't get this.

The thing is tragic romances are part of Chinese culture, it's such a big thing there so it's kind of inescapable…
Well I think it was clear enough in my opinion, she has the shell and the last scene is him inside cultivating, which is a common ending in Chinese dramas so when taking that into context it makes it more clear, and the novel ending is 1000 years later I think when he is reborn while the end of the drama was 500 years later, so it was only half way so we can assume he will be back in the next 500 years, for me I'm fine with the ending, I consider it a happy ending in the future so doesnt bother me like it seems to bother many, but yes other than that I agree.

Yes, it's hard to find leads that are both equally compatible and likable these days for me so I'm extremely happy…
Same! and it was short and sweet, but still managed to flesh out a proper story and great romantic development, this really was a gem, so glad I found it.

I agree with you, i totally get wanting a happy ending and I do agree we love these dramas because they're a beautiful escape from the real world, so I do love happy endings too, but I also do see the appeal in the tragic endings that the Chinese just love, but as you said too if they must die I like both of them to die together, obviously I like happy endings the best but if it must be sad, I hope they both die together, that's why I like endings like this drama. I also get that tragic endings don't seem to connect with people today, people do tend to prefer happy endings today, I do love some tragedy myself though lol and I do have to admire the Chinese not caring and just doing what they want when it comes to the endings.

I agree with Till the End of The Moon too, I would have liked for them both to die but at least she did try to die with him! but he stopped her and she was pregnant so it's a good thing he did, but if she wasn't pregnant I definitely wanted them both to die rather than one but I honestly think of Till the End of The Moon as having a happy ending, it's shown that he is cultivating and that they should be reunited soon as per the novel! If the ending had just shown her and their daughter that would have been definitely more sad leaning, but they made sure to show him inside the shell so I think of it as an upcoming happy ending.

Another frustrating finale. I don't know what these screenwriters eat and drink to be so pessimistic. There is…
The thing is tragic romances are part of Chinese culture, it's such a big thing there so it's kind of inescapable if you watch historicals, their famous Butterfly Lovers which is basically the Chinese Romeo and Juliet, it even predates Shakespeares by like 1000 years, Chinese historicals more often than not have sad endings because it's a part of the culture, much more than other countries, they're not endings for everyone but I love them, at least when done well or when it makes sense.

CJM now understands what LSS had done for him as YXW... context really is important, coz even if LSS told TTJ…
I agree with what you're saying too, and haha dont worry about it, I'm low key here for the cruelty myself it just adds more tragedy to it, it's just I wish we got a little more from Susu in her apologies and confessions etc. and I wish the episodes weren't cut! I agree up until ep 31 there was very little plot holes or anything, so we'll never know, i personally don't even think it suffered much due to the cut episodes because it's still amazing but I definitely say we would be less confused about things in the final arc had the episodes not been cut, why on earth couldn't the episodes being capped at 40 have happened AFTER it aired!

I agree with all this too, and it's funny because the cruelty to some of the scenes just makes me love it more because I just love gothic romances, the cruetly and brutality to the wedding scene made the scene become like one of my favourite scenes ever so I wouldn't even actually change it, but because of all the suffering TTJ went through his whole life and then to be dealt all that makes it so much worse, so it's just because I hurt for TTJ just thinking of it ,so while I wouldn't change it, I just wish she would have apologised to him once, and even in ep 28 when she's doing a good thing for him and giving him her essence as she's dying, she still has to say something cruel to him before she goes about wanting to never see him again, again it was unnecessarly cruel and it hurts like why do you have to say that to him? haven't you hurt him enough, but yes it just adds to the tragedy of it all so I'm not against it, I just wish she explained more to him and I wish she told him she loved him! she never did that too lol but I agree that she got her karma to a certain extent, I don't think anyone could compete with TTJ for suffering though lol but yea.
You're right though I could actually rant about this show all day and I love that all of us on here can.

Also yes to the ending! in fact I always forget that it wasn't totally a happy ending until you guys on here remind me, stop that! lol To me they got that novel ending, if they had only shown Susu and their daughter at the end that would be different, but they did show us TTJ in the last scene so that pretty much confirmed the novel ending for me, but I have to wonder why on earth they didn't just film a 10 second scene of him coming back and them either just looking at each other smiling or embracing, I don't get it, 10 seconds would have done it.

I also question the cliche accusation lol as this drama was the wildest ride, you could never predict so much that happened.

Cliche, repetitive, very little/no character development. Same plot lines just repeating again and again. Dropped…
Obviously it's fine not to like it, we all have different tastes, but no character development? I can only assume you skipped A LOT, Tantai Jin's character has some of the most phenomenal development I have seen.

This drama isn't for everyone, it's quite gothic for starters so you have to like that sort of thing, I also think unlike a lot of things today, it wasn't dumbed down for audiences which I personally liked, but that made it harder to follow for some people and I feel many people missed things and blamed the writing when there was nothing actually wrong with the writing and many drama watchers tend to skip scenes they find "boring" which doesn't help. There is some things rushed or missing in the last 10 episodes due to episodes being cut but besides 1 or 2 episodes, I still think they pulled it together nicely. Again it's not for everyone but then again is anything for everyone? I normally always think stuff is overated too when they get a lot of praise but this was just not one of those things, if anything I think this deserves more praise, to me it's honestly one of the most amazing things I have seen, it just has to be your cup of tea.

CJM now understands what LSS had done for him as YXW... context really is important, coz even if LSS told TTJ…
I'm pretty sure he must have knew somewhat of the Devil Lord before this, that's why I find some of the dialogue in episode 34 not making sense, she already showed him all the clips of him being DL in ep 28, she showed him the DL killing the whole sect, and the DL is famous in his kingdom considering TTJ played him at the festival in ep 23 so he must have been aware of it somewhat. I also don't think her doing her mission cuts it, I love Yi Xiwu at this point, I've seen it too many times not to but she was unnecessarily cruel to him at many points that had nothing to do with her mission, like ep 26 when she finally stabs him, not only was it all due to misunderstandings caused by her, but she went out of her way to do it in the cruelest way possible, her mission was to kill him not to do it cruelly, like she had no reason to do it on their wedding day after kissing him or to tell him she never loved him, this was just extra cruelty from her so honestly I don't like how episode 34 kind of just throws everything she did under the rug and makes it ok because of her mission, and TTJ saying she treated me well the whole time, she did treat him well .......sometimes, other times not so much, so all in all always have mixed feelings about the scenes in 34, I just would have liked Susu actually apologizing to TTJ for all the pain she caused him, but she never does and this annoyed me, instead they have him thanking her, in fact I feel like he low key says some truths later in ep 39 when he's pretending to be the DL lol he's calling out her unnecessary cruelty, I feel there is some honesty in that part.

Other problems with ep 33/34 is DM giving the whole story about TTJ being destined to end up in the sect etc. this is either nonsense from DM or the writers just didnt't want us to think much about it, because TTJ died in the snow in ep 1 if Susu didn't go back to the past, and throughout the early episodes when DL was talking to TTJ each time he came close to death, DL wanted TTJ to be killed, DL wanted TTJ dead as soon as possible so that he could be reborn, he did not set up this scheme to have TTJ live for 500+ years and become a member of a sect lol DL had no clue Susu would go back in time and fall in love with TTJ, otherwise he would also know that TTJ would end up becoming so mentally strong and powerful that he will overpower the DL and obviously that is not what the DL wants so all of this just makes no sense. Again either DM is making it up or the writers didn't want us to think. I don't honestly think there is many plot holes in this show, I understand most things but what plot holes there are in it is definitely from episode 30 to 40 probably over the cut episodes.
