I watched some clips of this series and they were quite good, some were hot too but then I tried the trailer and omfg it was so obvious that Fiat just cannot cry. That awkward full body shaking, if it was an all out cry like in itsay then I would have commended it but it wasn't, it was just plain bad acting (or directing).
I was considering picking up DSN as a side show while watching Bad Buddy but after this review, I don't know anymore. I don't want another Tharntype but I do want to see Ja and First. Btw, would you have watched this if you'd known that it would be so bad? 🤣
I am at the first two episodes and the lead is so despicable. The service expected at a local stall and at a hotel are largely different and if as a manager he wishes to bridge the gap in just one day, that too on his very first day, then very sorry to say but he isn't very capable.
Without taking cognisance of the situation in the restaurant which is critically understaffed and the staff is definitely underpaid compared to their working hours. Also, they are part time workers whose job has no security and relies on how long the restaurant survives. Without taking measure to improve the staffing, Kotari butts in and starts his idealistic rants on how the underpaid overworked staff need to work harder to provide better service to their customers.
While Aoi is continuously serving, Setsuko is suffering from pain because of having to haul noodles, Yoshi is washing dishes and Momo is at the cash register, the manager instead of helping to do the broth or assisting them is serving water to the customers and clicking pictures of them.
Moreover, his stupidity is being glorified. Similarly for Momo. So far these two characters have been horrendously irritating.
I just hated how the manager was revving his bike when Aoi tried to speak to him.
The message the show is trying to deliver is the same old good, but the manner in which it is forcing the message is horrible. I hope there's character development and a major turn around of the lead. The actor is playing the arrogance quite well, given that it requires a base complacency and no other emotional input.
Also, what was that special dish? He made the same old udon (sorry, Aoi and the others made it) and the manager just added a lot of lemons and some toppings. Like go off
I can't shake off this feeling but I think Jung Woo might have joined there just to get closer to Do Gun. The song at the end of episode 2 just added more points to this theory. Istg if they ruin the story with a lame twist like that—
Or maybe not. Anyway CJW is a hot asshole, YDG is kind of cute. This needs to be longer
The trailer set a really good tone for the series; three couples have been established: the mains Hie Lian and Kuea are cute and hot; Max and Nat are doing those same cringey roles though, as Hie Yi and Kon they represent the married but in conflict stage (the lack of trust and misunderstanding tropes are boring); the third couple are our genuine bl couples, straight out of the dictionary and seem cute too.
The acting was a bit bad though but apart from the crying scenes I think we should be okay. Zee is sizzling. The ending where Kuea pulled him down by the tie is just the perfect dynamic. Excited for this one.
I liked how episode 1 went, it set a good pace for the story to proceed. They both look quite cute together, especially when Mamoru smiles. I love her personality so much
The actress is Korean, this is jer third jdrama. I don't really check out the casts so I thought she was the same actress from Confidence Man JP 😂 Shim Eun Kyung is wonderful though, really brought out the emotions.
