I see the growth of the main male lead character, thanks to Naksu he is now the man and the mage .
Yup. If anyone bothered to read the original story description, this drama is exactly what was promised. It was about Naksu finding herself in another body. It was about the mages of Daeho maturing. It was about Uk, who had a birth secret.
Hong sisters were really unpredictable writers lmao. Saw many viewers assumed that Jang Uk's iconic line in the…
Yup. Though I credit the editing team for that preview cut. To me, it makes more sense at this point, since they just RE-emphasized the Three Musketeer bonds between the boys and their love for each other. He doesn’t know about Naksu.
And Hong Sisters have been sitting on their couch doing this as fans go bonkers with their Theories!
Jang UK telling Yeong to just look at him like she is madly in love with him when that's all she has been doing…
He said that to MD too, after they revealed the jades to Park Jin. Which then to that comic gold with her glares, and his fantasy of her looking sweetly at him.
Uk couldn't revolt Jin Mu and royal family because they threatened him with Park Jin's life, right? If he does…
He cannot revolt against the Royal family. It would be Regicide.
Park Jin hid UKs power to prevent destabilization of Daeho. Park Jin is his father figure and moral guide, so he would believe Park Jin’s judgement and the threat to Park Jin’s life holds him in check.
Friendly reminder that theories are for fun, and don’t build your expectations around it. I’ve seen multiple…
Yeah, I noticed the intense obsession with fan theories in Part1 which then lead to fan wars and hate for writers who are renowned for their screenplays.
Random question: Doesn't Jang Family have family business or organization? They are so rich without doing anything,…
I got the impression the Jang family was already enormously wealthy, possibly through trade and land ownership. Gotta feed the kitty for all those bribes and condensation for broken Jin relics.
There were hints that Uk knew how to run his family business. The authority with which he threatened his Buddhist master, with withdrawal of funds; his first encounter with Heo Yun Ok, when he asked was she his creditor? I think Kim Do Ju is his steward, and transacts on his behalf. I believe I saw her supervising the unloading of goods, and whenever she dispensed money for his party, compensation for Jin relics he broke, and other sums, she usually looked at him for approval.
What is new in Part 2, is his uncanny knowledge of comparative market prices for small goods.. He advised the liquor delivery trio and Naksu on how they got gypped for their charms and fan.
I know everyone just wants her to get her memories back and finds it annoying but I genuinely love them taking…
I think there is progression, if you follow the changes in Uk. It’s like Pygmalian, where Naksu brings the petrified Uk back to life. He was lifeless in episodes 21-22. The face was stone and the mouth barely moved. As each episode goes by, you see him coming back to life. The eyes are engaged, the face has become more mobile, the goofiness has started to return. “He’s my chingu” scene illustrated this. The bickering and comedy is back. Naksu is still manipulating him to do things. Did you really think MD was strong? Her spirit was, but the comedy came from her body failing to do what she wanted, so she constantly manipulated Uk. Difference is, Part 1, her manipulation is ruthless and calculated. In Part 2, it’s innocent and winsome. Part 1, she placed him in situations where he had no chance but to proceed. In Part 2, he chooses to help, even though he thinks he’s crazy. He is actually is fulfilling his marriage pact with her, but we all know there’s more to his actions.
Why UKs love was so powerful and unconditional in Part 1, was because marriages in noble families is transactional, not about love. Uk was engaged to Jin Cho Yean, because he was hoping to unlock his energy. That’s how he got out of it the second time, because he devalued himself as a bastard. Uk was willing to marry the peasant girl, who had no money, no family and no power to offer. CP could not marry her, because he’s royal, and could only, at best, offer her a concubine position. Yul, could never fully love her, because he knew she was a soul shifter. He also was of a noble family, where much was expected of him.
In Part 2, Naksu’s exterior value has improved, as the acknowledged eldest daughter of the Jin family. Potentially, she is a better bride for all suitors. However, she was treated like dirt, and was willing to bargain with Uk to escape Jin prison, have a place to stay, and have freedom to move around. He gave that to her, and keeps reminding her he fulfilled her wishes. All he wants is her divine power, for a purpose he has not revealed. Dramatic tension: will she remove the ice stone, knowing it may mean his death? She vowed to protect him. Will this constitute protection? He himself has to want to live.
And I was just reminded. Naksu is showing unconditional love in Part 2, just like Uk did in Part 1. Each actor is perceived as weak for showing that vulnerable side. That’s why everyone love bad-a$$ Naksu and thinks she is a pushover in Part 2. Now it’s UKs turn to be strong in Part 2 physically, but Naksu’s protective love restores his emotional health.
Been curious about this since I saw JBY/Naksu's character:If JBY/Naksu gets her memories back, what will her personality…
In Master’s Sun, also written by the Hong Sisters, the amnesia was a plot device where the male lead found his way back to FL, despite her attempts to disengage from him and a fake SFL (who had one sided love for years) who tried to trigger his memories with tokens of his true love. The token, a Sun necklace, triggered his memory and he went straight back to his FL, calling the other girl a fake.
The jades represent their love, so will be a key, as well as her blue eyes, which is the proof he’s been looking for. I’m hoping the memories that were unnecessary to Master Lee were the bad ones about Naksu the assassin, and the ones that remain, are the ones with Uk, which seems to be the case.
I can't help but kiss my screen whenever I see the FL ❤️
I hear you! Got a new big screen TV for Christmas, and UKs jawline looks ever more chiseled than from my iPad! HUGE improvement. I intend to rewatch entire series in January and enjoy each and every moment of enhanced visuals!
Wait until uk reciprocate his love for BuYeon first before making judgment. Up until ep5.8 he rejected her every…
Actually, filming with original cast started in May-June 2021. The main cast was set in January 2022. JSM joined late, replacing first FL lead, who left around July 2021,, after wrapping MHM in September or October. I assume GYJ was part of early filming, to accommodate her movie.
I think you're missing the fact that the blood parasite is messing his mind too. For 3 whole years, he had dreams…
Think of Yul as an old time monk, whomflayed himself (mentally) over his failure to rid the world of a creature of sorcery, that mages consider evil. This was all gone over in Part 1. He is a disciple of Park Jin, who kept saying souldmshifters must be eradicated.
And Hong Sisters have been sitting on their couch doing this as fans go bonkers with their Theories!

Did anyone catch the callback to when he first opened his energy portal? The ripples in the bathtub he thought he caused?

Maybe that’s why no overlap.
