Me too! I loved him in this. Hummm... maybe try:One Spring Night (South Korea)When the Weather is Fine (South…
I second it. ML in that one was also very sweet and supportive

When you point it out, it’s ridiculous, how empty it looks. I hadn’t noticed before how few people there were. Thanks for writing this article, it was very informative. On one hand, it’s interesting to learn about filming techniques, on the other hand ignorance is bliss since I would have been distracted had I known and likely would not have enjoyed the show as much as I did.

Pls don’t get me wrong, I’m not condemning the reality of people like Sang Tae and Gang Tae existing. My point…
@Namsprakswit7 This comment of yours helped me understand better what you were trying to express in your article. So in this case, what you’re saying is it’s not that ASPD was depicted poorly, (which it most certainly wasn’t ) but that only one end of the scale of ASPD was shown. I.e. those with more extreme tendencies like Sang Tae. I agree. However, the other end of the spectrum with high functioning individuals is less dramatic and difficult to differentiate from “normal” people who can also have the same struggles. Good Doctor might be a good example of this although it has some stereotypes as well.

I respect your opinion but I don't agree with your analysis for IOTNBO. Yes people with autism have symptoms to varying degrees, but Moon Sang Tae's portrayal was very accurate representation of many autistic people. In my opinion it's one of the best representations of autism I've seen. Rather than portray him as the either stereotypical genius or completely unintelligent, he was somewhere in the middle. I liked how he was shown trying to become an illustrator i.e. wanting an identity beyond his autism. As someone with a close family member with autism I also related with Moon Gang Tae. Having a family member with autism is not necessarily a burden but it does add additional pressure for family members. It can be just as much of a struggle growing up as a sibling of an autistic person. This aspect is not shown very often in tv and movies. I appreciated the fact that they did so.

I Highly Disagree, I respect your Opinion. BUT, If you feel like hes Not your type it is best to keep it moving.…
See that’s the thing though. He is one of my faves that’s why I keep watching his shows even though his recent shows have been mediocre. JCW can give the most amazing performance but if he keeps choosing bad scripts he won’t get the recognition he deserves. Not every opinion has to be positive, as you said we can respect each other’s opinions without agreeing. Asking someone to go post elsewhere is totally uncalled for.

Hello Meineke. I'd recommend Ode to Joy, it has 2 season. Always be my fav!
Thanks! I've added it to my PTW.

I’m having serious withdrawals from this show. I don’t usually like modern C-Dramas because they’re often immature and set in high school/ college. Anyone know any slightly mature dramas like this one? Doesn’t have to be a noona romance, just people in their mid-late twenties or thirties living life.

This show seems to have glowing reviews all around. I’m watching the first episode and it’s kinda boring. Anyone else experienced this? How many episodes before you started liking the drama?
ellietheelai Jul 2, 2021
Are all C dramas dubbed? Even the modern ones? It’s probably my ignorance but as long as they all speak Mandarin, I don’t see why they can’t dub themselves. I have three coworkers who are from very different regions of China but they don’t seem to have any issue conversing in Mandarin. I know Chinese culture is very diverse and dubbing is probably their best option but I still wish I could hear the actors’ original voices.

I’m surprised by the low rating. I binge watched this in a week. Haven’t had the urge to do that for any drama in years. It was very relatable and FL is a great role model. She was smart, independent, and didn’t bow down to societal norms. Also liked ML, if all men were as confident as him, they wouldn’t feel intimidated by strong women. Wish there were more men like him in real life. Maybe it was just me but it felt like Shanghai was a main character in the show. They talked about its dialect, cuisine, culture and it was all fascinating. The shots of the skyline were mesmerizing. Lastly I just want to mention Qin Lan is so pretty. When she smiles, she looks like an anime character coming to life. I would have liked the romance to start about 10 episodes earlier but other than that, it was a great show .No idea where these low ratings are coming from.

WDH fan I presume? I haven't really watched him in anything other than TKEM. Any suggestions? If these were real dramas, I would totally watch them. Especially EXO the movie.

Excellent article. Brilliantly written. If you watch K-dramas the truck of doom is bound to show at some point. Just curious, does this phenomenon happen in just Korean dramas or other countries too?

Although I’m enjoying this drama and think SJK is doing a good job, for some reason I keep thinking that Lee Joon Gi would have nailed this role. Not sure why he keeps coming to mind, especially in ep. 6. Anyone else agree?

is it a happy ending to the couple end up together`?what episode do the couple start dating?if theres a break…
Ha! Your questions are bang on. Every romantic k-drama can be summarized by the same set of questions.

I love that you included prince Bo from the Wolf. His character was great and Darren Wang did an outstanding job. It’s really unfortunate that he got overshadowed by the popularity of Xiao Zhan. Speaking of which, my personal favourite is Wei Wu Xian from The Untamed. If you ever do a second part, I would love to see him on it.
