I feel this is Sifeng (Cheng Yi) again in his nth lifetime suffering on behalf of Xuanji (Crystal Yuan)! How poetic... and all those haters are just like those dumbass righteous sects with a one track mind. On a positive note, super excited to hear about Korea purchasing the full 70 episodes! Hopefully they get subbed and we can all rewatch the full series and maybe a bit more expansion on the previous 9 lifetimes (not more suffering!)

I think the directors have done a fantasitc job portraying this as well ... its just a lot of your points are not so obvious because SF character guards his intentions very closely, how else is he to be such a perfect and selfless (albeit heartbreaking and frustrating) ML?
This 10th lifetime is a culmination of so many faults, mistakes and misunderstandings, seeing everyone get so invested in the outcome just shows how awesome this production is. I really hope it becomes more appreciated and the staff get the recognition they deserve!

It's super adorable because he does the "ssssss sssss" no naturally it can actually be mistaken for normal Chinese when someone is disapointed or annoyed. Similar to the Korean aish! or Cantonese aiyaa!

I'm thinking this sounds like a really good cover up story - with the real reason being that XJ eventually discovered HC had basically done a Frankenstein on her and rebelled, so to avoid anyone finding out what he did (of course for the greater good of all 3 realms) he put her down for 10 lifetime trials to try and dissipate her hate/anger, as unknown to even himself, he does love her to some extent and does not want to destroy her completely. But I could be wrong! This drama tends to move the story along at a great pace so I'm sure we'll find the real reasons soon.
