Yes..get past the Ship scenes then you will understand why it's rated 8.4 on MDL ,7.7 on IDMb and 7.7 on Prime, which…
The political part of this drama is a different.. These two are chess players..that's one way I can put it.You will find yourself literally going wow..they start as enemies then realise they need eachother and both their missions are actually intertwined..ZJY will blow your mind in this one..I have seen at least 3 of her work but I love her in this .Def of a badass female lead.. And you know Chen XingXu is absolutely brilliant actor and out of all the dramas of his I have watched, this was the best..He has that natural flow to him. Yes 7.7 IMDb rating for a Republic Era drama is no joke..even 8.4 MDL for a RE drama is quite high..
Exactly right, for me it's one of my favourite modern dramas that actually keep me want to continue watching themNGL…
At least she has had some main roles..her co-star Sun Shaolong has not led any project since To Be With You..he just does supporting roles..And the way he is extremely talented breaks my heart
I tried to watch it last week. I loved the 1st episode but then second episode was really boring. Do you think…
Just to clarify, I was responding to your comment where you advised people not to watch the show. My original comment wasn't about your review.
Most people understand that some Chinese dramas are made to promote China. We might agree with some of these, and disagree with others. And honestly, they have every right to do that! If my country had the money and had the power, I'd do the same. So, if "Meet Yourself" fits that description, I don't see a problem. Viewers can decide for themselves. We watch what we enjoy, learn what's important, and ignore what isn't.
Many of us watch dramas to relax and escape from all the noise in the world. We don't want to be policed by side PSAs constantly shouting don't watch this, it's "propaganda," "it's not inclusive," "it's sensitive," or other social mambo jambos. If we wanted that kind of pressure, we would have stayed in Hollywood.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying "Meet Yourself" is perfect. But it was made to tell a story, and given its high IMDb rating (8.1, which is tough to get) and audience score (4.9/5), I think it did a great job achieving its goal.
Thank you so much for reading through that. I write my reviews more carefully most of the time but this one I…
Rant reviews are the best..They are written with rawness of emotions..From experience,I have been saved from time wasting by reviewslike these

It appears there might be a misunderstanding regarding the use of the term "incest" in your review of the drama.
In many non-Western cultures, particularly within Chinese culture, terms like "brother" are often used as honorifics for older males, regardless of blood relation. This can apply to close friends, neighbors, or individuals who have grown up together in a familial environment.
In the drama, Ling Xiao and He Zi Qiu are not blood relatives of Li Jian Jian, nor are they adopted into her family in a legal sense that would establish a familial bond. They are the children of neighbors who were raised alongside Li Jian Jian, sharing meals and experiences under the care of her father. They do not even share the same family name, which further distinguishes them from a traditional family unit.
You mentioned that the characters were "raised as siblings." This phrase itself implies a metaphorical, rather than biological or legally recognized, sibling relationship. Therefore, applying the term "incest" to their romantic relationships seems incongruous with the established context of their upbringing and cultural nuances.
It's important to consider these cultural distinctions and the specific nature of their relationships before using terms that carry such significant implications.
Do you know the name of his last drama "Trap for your heart" here on MDL?
