I tried to watch it last week. I loved the 1st episode but then second episode was really boring. Do you think…
Just to clarify, I was responding to your comment where you advised people not to watch the show. My original comment wasn't about your review.
Most people understand that some Chinese dramas are made to promote China. We might agree with some of these, and disagree with others. And honestly, they have every right to do that! If my country had the money and had the power, I'd do the same. So, if "Meet Yourself" fits that description, I don't see a problem. Viewers can decide for themselves. We watch what we enjoy, learn what's important, and ignore what isn't.
Many of us watch dramas to relax and escape from all the noise in the world. We don't want to be policed by side PSAs constantly shouting don't watch this, it's "propaganda," "it's not inclusive," "it's sensitive," or other social mambo jambos. If we wanted that kind of pressure, we would have stayed in Hollywood.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying "Meet Yourself" is perfect. But it was made to tell a story, and given its high IMDb rating (8.1, which is tough to get) and audience score (4.9/5), I think it did a great job achieving its goal.

I've noticed your consistent perspective on Meet Yourself, and it brings up an interesting point about how we define genres. Could you elaborate on what "boring," "healing," "slow burn," or "slice of life" mean to you specifically?
From my perspective, and that of a large majority (as the 95% positive sentiment suggests), the show really shines as a healing drama and a true slice of life. If your preference leans towards narratives filled with non-stop action, elaborate romantic entanglements, clear antagonists, and family drama at every turn, then this particular drama probably isn't for you.
Of course, there's a time and place for those more intense series you have mentioned , But sometimes, what's truly needed is a moment of calm and reflection, paired with the kind of stunning visuals Meet Yourself offers.
I think it's important for viewers to make their own choices rather than being told what to avoid. Giving a show at least a couple of episodes allows for a fair assessment. After all, our individual preferences are what make the viewing experience so rich. I've loved shows that were widely panned and found myself unmoved by others that garnered immense praise.
Unfortunately there is not so much like this, but if you like the 'take a breath' concept you can watch 'Summer…
You and I should just meet in Dali and travel to Granny Xi's village. How can you recommend every drama that us close to my heart 💜❤️ Begin Again, you mean the Macau one? if so yes yes..I have seen both too
