Ji Chang Wook would play a snaill and he would do it well,Its hard to pick holes in a drama with two of the most seasons actors.My man Sung Dong IL been aroung for some moons.
I went into this drama ecpecting rivers to flow and box of tissues to be overly used but shockngly It wasnt so...I dont know why but every death seemed like ok,at leat this person will not suffer anymore,It might be maybe because they chose characters that are advanced in age,the only character that made me shade a tear was a younger lady who had a dream to become a musical actress..this explains the phenomen that it never a good feeling when young people die.


Personally I loved the calmness and the quietness of the show,in scenes where someone was not being beaten by a baseball bat(this was really excessively used by the way)I dont know why the bad guys just found bats and golf sticks more appealing as weapons
The show was going well until midway when some story lines started taking centre stage more than necessary.Yes they have to connect to the ML past but a sidestory should not take more than 3 episodes especially in a 16 episodes drama..The gangstar stuff took more airtime than necessary,this time should have been used to grant more people their last wishes..Am not fun of funerals but the drama would have done its sad purpose if they did show us the Captain Kang Tae Sik's funeral,it would have been really sad,imagine all the characters coming together to bid fairwell to the legend,and how broken would Yun Gyeo-Rye(Ji Chang Wook)would have been watching his adoptive father/savior leave this world.
I would have wanted to see Jang Seok Jun and Ha Joon Kyung meet in the outside world,their character development was one of the highlight of the show for sure.
Overall I call this a light drama with a heavy subject that makes you question alot about end of life

This drama should be called "Fast and Furious in KAIROUTEI"


I picked this for Steven Zhang but the FL convinced me to stay because she was really good.Steve Zhang will deliver no matter how bad the plot is.I call him the male version of Zhao Lusi.Sometimes you dont even know if he is acting because its just too accurate and his mannerismand body movements feel like you are seing him in real life.

Am not familiar with the FL but from what I gathered she is a veteran,this explains why her actingwas really good and thanks to the write she was a strong character who didnt let the bullies have their way.Should i mention she is the first FL in chinese drama to initiate intense kissing scene?

We always complain about chinese drama having long episodes filled with unnecessary scenesbut what happens when they have to fit a whole trope into 12 episodes? You will find the answer when you watch,thats why I said they should have named it "Fast and Furious in KAIROUTEI Thats how fast your brain will be moving from scene to scene,saved but beautiful cinematic shots.

Dating in the kitchen and forbidden flower were top for me

it's taiwanese not Thailand..I really find the difference small..Jasper Lu acts in lots of mainland projects too

They were never together in the first place,the FL liked him but the boy was slow
And in asian culture most of the times the name cousin doesnt mean you are blood related

I wanted this drama to marinate in my subconscious before i wrote a short review.I have less complaints so this will be quick.If this ended up in your recommendation while you were looking for a noona story,dont even finish reading reviews,Go ahead and watch it,just have a warm blanket and extra pillow near you because the ML will make you feel very single if you are single or question your choices if you are married.Typical noona romance trope that was done EXTREMELY RIGHT and with a FRESH touch.The writer knew what he/she was doing,not your typical go back in time of our childhood storyline.
It deserves a 10/10 but the FL is developed late so if you are someone who gets mad at a stubborn FL like me,please bear with her till some episodes before the end..
I wanted more music performance beacause the ML is a musician with super star status but its ok,in Chinese drama you caant get everything you wish but this drama gave me the feels and am giving flowers to the editing team..whatever lacked,they made it up with an editing genius ideas

YOu are entitled to your own opinion but rating this 2/10 is not realistic,i have dropped worst dramas and maybe it was not your kind of dish but your rating might be misleading knowing that it is rated 8.3 on MDL which is high for Chineses dramas

Producing a drama is a combination of directors,screen writters,producers and editors..one of these go wrong the whole thing will tank

Am giving the Screen writer Wang Xiaong Cheng his flowers, the man has managed to write hits after hits,Go Ahead,Meet yourself,Find yourself and many great projects.
You can have A list star cast but if the script sucks or is full of holes, the drama wil tank like a house with a weak foundation.
I have never wished there was an option to raate a drama more than 10/10 like this drama.I have been seeing it flying around in the the comments and edits but i kept thinking this is another childhod,highschool romance so i shelved it mentally,boy oh boy was I wrong..In short,
No scene shall be skipped unless you have low tolerance of bad mothers,
You will laugh,cry,kick and scream whenever it applies,
In the end you will be part of the story,you will be the neighbour accross the hall,eat diner at Dad Li house or restaurant
You will hear Dad Ling famous line "Am going to work" often than you predictated
You will wait with Li Jian Jian as she waits for her brothers to come back
You will cry with He Zi Qiu as he fight his hainting past
Ling Xiao's silent deminure that carries a heavy load will keep you wanting to join karate classes so you can fight for him

There is so much to talk about but whenever a project is mind-blowing,its better for people to watch for themselves

Dear Ms Screen-writer,the fact that I have watched 3 of your dramas its enough to tell me that you are special..Go Ahead scores 100000/10, Meet Yourself has been my all time healing drama and i recommend it whenever i get the chance and Find yourself,your really have a good relationship with the ML cos you ve used him twice

An emotional rollercoaster and a high blood pressure.

I dont care what anyone say, if you want to see how the past traumas can ruin innocent people's lives.
I dont have much to say about the story cos you have to watch to make your own judgement but it will leave you with anger and bitterness towards adults and their decisions at a split of a second and lives are ruined forever.
Seo In Guk has officially entered in my guiness book of record as an actor with shoulders strong enough to carry a character that is demonised and hated by everyone..A devil they say but what kind of devil is he?Is He really?
THis is the first drama where i watched the ending before starting it so i knew it was going to wreck me but decided to watch it like a book.I enjoyed the journey and buried the end at the back of my head and assume it wont happen.Call it voluntery amnesia.
I was scared to watch it but am glad I did because out of it i learnt life lessons that i will pass on to my off-springs;Cure past traumas before they kill you,and tell everything no matter how painfull it is

I struggled to rate this show,even though i had good laughs and good tears but the psychological warfare in characterization that the writer put us through was too much.This is the first time i have ever watched a drama whereby the 2ML takes the ship from episode 1 to the the last episode.
As a woman the ML visuals was stunning but if i was to be in a Titanic wreck,i would hang on to 2ML,this man had depth and great leadership in a world of headless chicken that we named developers.Every time there was a problem,in my mind i was like what would HJP do? He might have seen to be brutally honest most of the times but the world doesn't run on weak minds.
His relationship with Grandma Choi is what kept me emotionally connected to the drama,you get to experiences a stranger who takes on a role of a parent to a young man who is lost and it goes on for ages.She was his home,his peace and his world and he was worth 10 sons..The last part where she saw everyone in her family has finally met but her heart went to HJP and the way she immediately went to him even with her eyesight deteriorating..I think she will worry about him for the rest of her life and I hope he finds someone with a heart like Grandma Choi(in season 2 that i have written in my head)
This show would have gone way better without the romantic tag but as we know romance sales and Korea film industry oversupplies this product.I dont think it was necessary to create a love triangle.HJP could have remained a mentor to Do-San and crew,and maybe leave the ML and FL to fall in love naturally.The letters from the FL past would have been about the dad story and his struggles to start business,like a dairy type of correspondance and this would have build up to the present,the mentor helping the FL to bring to reality her dad’s dream.Am not a kdrama writer but thats the direction i would have taken this to.

Overall,using the common line of the drama”Sail without a map” this drama sailed with the wrong map instead,the funny part was funny(when ML and 2ML were using the national anthem lyrics to pretend they are in deep convo,and when he was trying to train him how to be him) the emotional scenes were really emotional but the romantic tag was unnecessary cos even the chemistry between the lead was non existent

Every now and then I go back in times(so far have gone 12 years back) and watch a masterpiece like Healer when Ji Chang Wook,Park Min Young,Yoo Ji Tae and the mervelous Lady Kim Mi Kyung were still young and before they went to make numerous hits like Welcome to Samdarli,Whats wrong with Secretary Kim,Money heist-Korea and Its okay not to be Okay.The actors combined have been in more hit projects that can make up a whole movie Studio in itself, so seing them together in one drama back in 2014 must have been a thrill.I felt the power that they brought to this serie 10 years later..No scene is boring or a filler, Everything suits together like a puzzle.Even if you were a critic,Its hard to find bits to pick on.Considering this was a decade ago, and how the film industry has grown with the use of CGIs and advanced tech,Back then thngs were still being done manually, streets were closed to shoot scenes,actors did their own stunts off the buildings,I understand that JCW does most of his own stunts and how can i forget the veteran who never ages Ms Kim Min Kyung, She is is been in more dramas than my neighbors'cats..how about Ms Park Min Young, I see her on my screen more than CNN Breaking news lolOverall as they say Old is Gold,indeed Healer is gold that will stay in our reserve mental bank for generations to come.

I normally dont watch short dramas,which are becoming increasing in the world of dramas..Due to the fact that they are low budget and often a times the quality of everything is wanting so am always skipping no matter how the edits good are the on tiktok or IG.But Embrace in the dark night hit different,If you ignore the storyline and the old martial art Hong Kong like plot,you will enjoy it,especially when you find the full version on youtube wich is 5 hrs,you dont have to keep playing next after every 15 min.
The editors did a great job that you eager to know what happens next.
The actors,the main lead especially carried the whole show on his very sexy shoulders,He was extremely good that i started looking at his other projects.Needless to say that he is young so within the next 10 years he will be a force to reckon with.
The chemistry from the ML will keep your feet kicking,while you cling to your pillows,just WOW.
I understand that CP does not censor short dramas so this is a paradise for directors and writers wanting to push the envelope...and boy did the director allow the ML to get out of the whole postal office..Read many many kissing scenes including the famous French kiss,the first in the Cdrama history
The OST was suprisingly amazing and most of the songs are in engish so this part was really satisfying.
Overall,If you are looking for a quickie,medium action,hot romance and over the roof chemistry without caring for the plotline..This is for you
