This is such an amazing story and stellar cast! I love all of the characters, the acting and the storyline. The only thing I will gripe about (and it’s a me thing), I think Love in the Clouds still has me in chokeholds and keep getting flashback of Ji Bo Zai so getting though this lot slower than my usual pace of binging 😫😢 PS: omg guys - was it just me who took forever to recognize it’s the same actor who plays the busty muscly hunk scholar in The Prisoner of Beauty is Xie Huai here?! talk about range!
People don’t understand how much it costs to produce a series without using any AI. For me, AI is inevitable…
I understand what you’re trying to convey; however, I’d invite you to also see this from another perspective if you can. There are many uses of AI that don’t take away from acting jobs - it can be used to fix audio/visual issues, produce some of the stunts that are too dangerous for humans, or enhance sci-fi/fantasy-style shows. But using AI (and very badly at that) to narrate entire backstories cheapens the quality of the entire production and takes acting jobs away from many supporting actors. The industry is already suffering from vertical dramas and now AI-generated vertical short dramas, to the point where we’ve seen actors leaving the industry altogether to make livable wages. I pay for 4 streaming services (Netflix, Gaga, Viki and IQIYI) so I don’t want to contribute to productions that want to invest the least and profit the most by any means. There are production companies like Strongberry that do incredible work - they release fully on YouTube and still manage to produce great content. It may seem like negativity, but strong discourse is one of the only ways to limit the rampant use of AI in artistic mediums. If people stop complaining or lowering their ratings of shows with prevalent AI usage, there will be no limit to how far the drive for profit will take these productions.
Also, let’s not ignore the cost of using AI at a large scale. It may not show up in the production budget, but the broader environmental cost is immense - especially given the sheer volume of content being produced across the large Asian and North American entertainment industries
Wowza so pleasantly surprised! I didn’t have a lot of expectation as the TikTok that led me to the show was quite cheesy. I hope this doesn’t offend anyone but I feel like industry has shown a growth from crowd pleasing BLs (cutesy romcoms) to more nuanced and complex stories and acting and I’m here for it!!
Guys - I’m on episode 15 and some of the side plot lines seem so unnecessary and created just to extend the show perhaps? I’m actually dragging right now and thinking to pause to start another show to watch simultaneously. it’s a crime because I absolutely adore Hou Ming Ho and really like his character here. I also love the FL in here and they both are acting so well. Anyone else feeling the same halfway though?
Writers, directors, crew members - if ANY of you are here and reading our comments … WE NEED SPECIALS AND SIDE STORIES … one more episode is not gonna cut it. We’ll fundraise on gofundme if you need $, just tell us!!
I was looking for something lighthearted and family oriented after Perfect Match - this has a similar feel. really enjoying it. Also, Ni Hong Ji has such amazing range!!
when you start watching an entire show JUST for the second leads!! Please can someone post if they end up making it? I don’t mind the spoilers, please just make sure to toggle spoiler on for others. Thanks!! 😊
Are we really having SLS over a guy that can’t take No for an answer. And to insist FL should end up with someone…
I’m only on ep 10 and heck yes I’m rooting for SML over ML - the entire personality and reasoning was flawed and ML only became interested when she became in the current state! I don’t want to say more since I don’t want to tag spoiler but based on what you wrote, both would be equally unqualified to win the heart of this FL
