Not a fan of chinese historical dramas, but this one is very catchy. Decorations and costumes are very good (dunno if they correct enough, but really good looking). As many here in comments I prefer more romance and less politics. It's more about duty and loyalty, than love. P.S. Double names are maddening when trying to figure out who the conversation is about
I don't think this is a spoiler since it's in the first 2 episodes but does Dou Zhao not fully remember her past…
Future, written in the book, is changing as she acts. She remember her past life, but it's 16 years passed since her resurrection in age of 7 to main plot timeline.
Summary after completion: An interesting story, with beautiful actors and passable sets, costumes, and special effects, spoiled by a ragged montage that makes it difficult to understand sometimes. And the very ending... Just what and why? Just because...
I’m 11 episodes through and I’m debating if I should drop it because I can’t stand the FML. Should I drop…
At the same time, it's amazing how they were able to combine the general slowness of the narrative with the rapidity and unpredictability of the change of events. Another proof that editing is not the strongest side of many c-dramas.

I like the series more than not. But tossing between worlds and times is a little confusing. It takes some effort not to lose the thread of the narrative. It is clear that the FL's behavior is a way to show her progress from naivety to maturity. These are the conventions you have to put up with when watching. I just continue watch it despite some struggle. Like 7/10 for me.
Not bad. But it is annoying how shamelessness, ignoring hints and direct refusals by FL are presented as good qualities: perseverance and confidence. Ahh, i guess title "The Ring" suits it better. Starting from episode with cat, scratching Shi Yue, it looks like someone bit the screenwriter, too, and pieces of the story began to disappear. The characters' mood swings and thoughts leading to decisions are not explained. You have to look at what's happening with the thought: "Well, that's just how he wanted it, no sense".
rewatching this makes me remember why this drama is not on my rewatch list........fl is way too annoying 😑.…
As for me all that annoying things pale in comparision to Lin You's return to her ex in one blink. Ah, and those FL drunk kisses. That horrible confession at a wedding. Just sick
I can't get clear why it's far away of expectations for me. Just first 20 minutes of 1st episode. No wonder it has "Business Proposal" vibe: Kim Sejeong, Lee Deok Hwa and same director Park Seon Ho. I really like "Business Proposal" and KSJ, but struggle to watch this. Maybe "Business Proposal" style gags didn't work as main narrative here? Or KSJ "The Uncanny Counter" style action scenes didn't fit here?
Upd at episode 9: I can't help but feel that the same plot moves in "Business Proposal" look appropriate, but here it's overdone and unnatural.
