I ended up killing off Lu Wuyi in that one. 😣It was a long-distance relationship AU where they were finally going to meet after years of being apart. I ended it with a voicemail she left him saying, "I’m almost there, I can’t wait to see you. I love you, Jiling. See you in a few hours!"

He actually had a ring on him because he’d been planning to propose. He carries it at all times just waiting for the perfect moment, but her plane never made it. I just live for the heartbreak of being that close to a happy ending and losing it in a split second. Fate is just as cruel in the modern world as it is in the ancient one! 😭

Hahaha, we really are opposites! I honestly admire people who can write modern AUs because I just can't make it work. I need the ancient era where I can use 'magic' logic if I accidentally kill a character off. 💀 Plus, modern laws really ruin the fun of unhinged characters! 🤣 I actually tried a Jilu modern one-shot once and I just killed one of them off by the end... 💀 I think my brain is just hardwired for historical drama and tragedy!

To be honest, I have no idea how long it'll end up being! Maybe 18 chapters? I’m projecting 60k words but who knows... I keep getting distracted by 'what if' scenes and obsessively re-editing.It’ll probably take me 2-3 months to wrap up, especially since I’m still torn on how exactly to end their story. The struggle is real! 😭

I’ve been writing a Gong Yuanzhi x Shangguan Zhi AU, I was going for Crazy x Manipulator, but I accidentally turned Yuanzhi into a massive yearner in the recent chapters, but desperate times call for desperate OOC measures! But honestly, who doesn't want that version of him? 🤭

You’re not selfish for wanting more romance and honestly, who wouldn’t want more romance? That’s half the reason we’re all watching. The focus does shift for a while to other characters, but it’s honestly not a bad thing. It gives the story more depth and a breather after all the pain 💀 It’s worth hanging in there though, the story still circles back to them. They’re still the heart of it all, and they’ll finally meet again in tomorrow’s episode! Plus, their separation actually adds a lot to their growth, especially Qingtong’s. She’s so much stronger now compared to how she was before.❤️

Rumu’s all about chasing love, Fugui’s all about thinking it through, no wonder neither works out. If both were to do each other's advice, we might actually have 3 functioning love stories 🤣🤣

Some people here are aware of his past life’s ending before the modern arc, but this is an adaptation; not everything carries over. Even Qingcheng wasn’t part of the original, and Wangquan Wumu’s name was changed to Quan Rumu. The drama takes its own direction, the ending’s still undetermined if that’s what you wanna hear.

Love that you shared your “experience" and all, but maybe next time use the spoiler tag before dropping theories like that, not everyone asked for an early funeral announcement. Some people actually prefer to watch the story unfold without getting it ruined! A little consideration goes a long way.
