I agree the SL love triangle bit and that Li Shishan music aspiration and conflict with his dad was a filler. Rest of the story was too good .

I will be surprised if she shows up. After all that embarrassment! There is another flashback of thus chick. There is a dialogue with her classmate. Again a question with option A or B. The answer she chooses tells us that she is gonna back off.
I stress again- dialogues are everythingin this drama [even the monologues]. If you skip or miss you ain't getting what you should be getting from the show. Applies to all viewers!
Enjoyable watch so far but doesn't feel at all like they have mutual crushes the story and interactions all play…
The plot uses her book in a very unique way. They relive many discoveries a decade later through discussions about the 'case". Such discoveries are a modern form of reverie—a dreamy, spontaneous insight into one's own unconscious feelings. Thus their story is carving from a secret crush into real love while understanding their and the other's real self.

Because in reality, when they were mutually attracted to each other they didn’t really know each other. If they get together and find out the relationship wasn’t what they had thought it would be and that they had been living in their own imagination they will break up soon.
What is attractive about this slow romance is that they don't have a dramatic relationship with many exaggerated scenes but they have visible sincerity. There are so many sweet moments, touching moments, little things, unspoken understanding and care all through. They fall in love and date already. Intimate in its own way...

Ok we know Zhou Jun used to be their class monitor. His gf is Yao Xin who works for Huanshi productions which is trying to get the rights of her novel to adapt it into a drama. In episode 21 we see her negotiating with RY regarding this and then Zhou Jun and XHS join them. This Yao Xin is found dead by the highway and the last person she calls from her phone is Zhou Jun. So cops are after him. He tries to call XHS but he was already on his way ✈️ to San Francisco to be with his dad who suffered another stroke. Then he calls Ruan Yu and asks her to pass the message to XHS to call him back. Zhou Jun then goes to the suburbs to RY's parents home and when the cops track him he holds Mr Ruan as hostage. But cops seek RY's help and then he calms down and surrenders but does not plead guilty of murder of his gf.
This case is very important as it happens to be very similar to the case that XHS dad handled 10years ago. His father was the defence lawyer. Since the accused was acquitted due to lack of sufficient evidence and the original murderer was never found their family faced a lot of criticism and were outcast. This also led to his parents divorce. Even the accused. Jiang Yi could never return to normal life although acquitted. The clues from this case will lead to the murderer of the old case solving this arc.

Dialogues are so well written in this drama.
And its surprisingly translating good in mango for a change.
