great cast and performance, I think the message theyâre trying to convey is both ethically and morally wrong, I also think the storyline lost its thrill or appeal after the 3 episode
Great drama, the storyline is a bit complicated but still worth it. They had me at the first half of the drama, like i was able to understand and make sense of what was happening, but then they lost me completely during the last 4 episodes. I honestly think it didn't need a happy ending, I feel like it would've been more impactful without it.
This drama is the blue print to all gender swapping drama that came after 2012. So the other dramas copied it.…
You make a really great point about Secret Garden being a blueprint for so many dramas that came after it. I totally get why itâs considered a classic, and I do respect how influential itâs been especially the whole gender-swapping twist. That part was honestly pretty fun and one of the things I really enjoyed about it.
That said, I feel like the drama still leans on tropes that were already a big deal in the 2000s. Stuff like the rich guy/poor girl dynamic, the arrogant lead, and memory loss werenât exactly new by the time Secret Garden came out. Dramas like Full House, My girl and Attic Cat had already made those pretty iconic. I think Secret Garden just took those elements and dialed them up a notch.
Watching it now feels like revisiting an old classic, you can totally see why it was a big deal back then, but at the same time, some parts havenât aged the best. I still found parts of it entertaining, though!
I found the storyline a bit confusing, but I really appreciated Han Hyo Joo's performance. Additionally, I thought Lee Kwang Soo and Chae Soo Bin's characters were the highlight of the entire movie.
the kdrama itself is good, the only thing I didnât like is how naive and weak the FL was. I like a more straightforward FL or at least whoâs not willing to take bullshit. Felt like they couldâve avoided all that drama and been together earlier.
First and foremost Jung Ryeo Won is stunningly beautiful (so is Lee dong wook), secondly this was quite okay. I didn't care much for the drama that was happening, i was mostly in awe of the chemistry between the main leads. I loved seeing lee dong wook play this character, he was so cute to watch. Also this is the "first" kdrama i've watched of Jung ryeo won, im looking forward to seeing more <333
Please donât rely on the reviews or comments and watch for yourself, I kept seeing bad reviews everywhere especially from TikTok, so I decided to watch it for myself and honestly itâs not that bad as people are making it out to be. It might not be the best but itâs also not the worst. Give it a chance and who knows you might like it!
Agree, it honestly wasnât that great as people were making it out to be. Iâm not a big fan of revenge dramas, in fact this one is my first, but it just felt quite predictable and the vengeance was kinda unsatisfying.
