I just watched this movie in the cinema today and I also have a Polish version of this website where I rate movies…
It's a long story so to make it short: he was cancelled from promos because Korean society is unable to forgive a drug scandal (even when it's clearly about medical treatment) and therefore you're canceled from promoting your works for the sake of self-reflection. At the time the movie was screened in SK he was still awaiting the last ruling from the trial too. He served 5 months in prison and then they finally released him and put him on probation (for 2 years still). Side note: this movie and The Match were both supposed to come out years ago but the drug scandal made it impossible until 2025. Both commercial successes by the way, plus YAI was nominated for The Match by the directors in the industry :)
So is he going to continue working in kdrama and movies?
Technically the industry would accept him back because his movies are a success + acting skills. It's also a fact directors want to work with him and have nominated him for The Match despite the outrage from haters. There is nothing impossible, since other popular actors recovered from similar scandals. It will take time for him to recover and korean public to stop caring as much though.
I finally watched this movie! It was really enjoyable. I would have preferred to see more of the "family" together. Also never enough of Yoo Ah In: I would have watched a whole movie only on his character.
Putting drug abuse on the same level as other criminals who have harmed and exploited other people is ridiculous!…
Even Prosecution couldn't find any proof of him getting drugs for others but himself, (the judge recognised he did it out of severe depression) and neither for their accusation of destroying evidence; so do you want us to believe you based on your...suspicions? Do you believe your moral compass is higher than institutions and law or what? You have no decisional power in this matter just as any of us. Leave decisions to judges.
So I saw around a month back it was on Netflix to come this year but now I can't find it
It seems like Netflix renounced to it and it's only coming to Korean theaters next month. It's looking sad for an international release, which is "funny".

YAI's parts cannot be cut due to his main role but he's omitted/erased from promos.
