Sleepy you are killing me... who is this long haired swordsman??? Aside from Kenshin, and Oleg (my own character) I know of no swordsman with long hair... I must see him ^ ^
My first Japanese drama I watched it when I was around seven. Loved it.

On the other side Ill get some pictures of this long haired man you speak of... yes, you sure know how to get me.

I started watching Who Are You. Are you interested??? Nway, we have a sure date for JunKi's drama okay? Hugs. <3
Why isn't the main character of this story added here?? It doesnt make sense to add the film which is not even Asian, and not add the main character. Sophie. Played by Vera Farmiga.

LOL. I don't mind crying, I just don't know if I want to cry over these actors hahaha... it sounds shallow, but I don't know. It has to do with the time.
The Princess' Man was another drama I dropped (or put on hold or something) because I didnt know if I wanted to go through with it, yet I like both actors. So it really has something to do with the moment.
By the way, the child actors were amazing. I agree. :)

Well Rita-chan if you are interested in Cruel City. This is what I know you will love, the soundtrack of the drama. It is beautiful.
Here are two videos that will make you want to watch it faster ^ ^ (the music on this vids arent from the soundtrack) This drama is brutal. Ill be waiting for your thoughts on it. But no hard feelings if you dont watch it in the end. Hug you tight until we chat again :)
The love that is born in one minute, can easily brake in one minute. This is my experience. I have seen it happen to very close people. Even with me.
But like you said, there is no right or wrong way of loving. It depends on the character, experiences, and personality of the individual.
Goddess of Marriage is juggling the two perspectives very well.
Another reason I like Japanese dramas, because they tend (for the most part) to value the love that grows over time. It means less divorces. And both countries are suffering from it.
If you learn to love your partner after so many years, with all his/her faults you are less likely to divorce. While a person that falls in love in one minute after meeting the other person, then marries, is more likely to be intolerant of faults.
I love this theme. I plan on getting married soon, so this is something right up my alley. ;)

You would have to watch the drama to see what I mean fully, but perhaps you do understand me.
I like to be fair as much as I can. I don't care if you are a woman or man, I value honesty and courage above anything, even love.
I have learned that being in love not necessarily means the person is the right for you. You may love someone that is not the one person to make you happy. As a result I try to keep a practical mind about what I want for my life, and what I want out of the person I choose to be my lifetime partner. I do want love, but I also have many other priorities in mind. Love is a feeling that can be born out of the most incredible couples ever. You might not have anything in common, and fall in love with time. It is possible. So I root for the love that takes time to grow, that plants roots, that is hard to bend and shake out of its core.

making her out to be a victim where she isn't.
My dad once said I had a very "machista" attitude. He told me I think like a man, although I don't feel or act like one. Perhaps I'm very much a traditionalist, and I have the mind set that men provide for their families while women are the stronghold at home. Not that I practice this. I work, and I believe a person (male or female) should be able to make their own decision and be free to provide for themselves. Be independent. As a result I am very much independent. However, I still hold traditionalist views in some cases.
This drama makes me feel like I'm the odd one in the bunch of women. Because I'm the one rooting for the fiance that is controlling and overbearing, just because he has a practical mind and knows what he wants, and is not afraid to admit his faults. I value that above anything else.

Regarding the having to like the heroine. I understand that part. I have always been prone to liking both leads from the start of any story. I accept their faults and support them all the way because I know the story is about them, and whether they make wrong decisions or not, I have to try and understand them, and ultimately learn from their mistakes. This is what the story is from the view of the writer.
When I write a story (which I haven't in a while lol) I don't create a character that I want everyone to like, but a character that I want others to learn from. So I do understand the having to like the female lead part, but in my personal experience I dont particularly have to like her. Although I do most of the times. I think it has been only 3 times I have disliked a female lead.
In Goddess of Marriage I dislike her not because of my personal reasons, but because viewers are...

Exactly.
I believe that both can be great in their own way, and both can lack in so many ways as well. When I want to get away from overwhelming feelings of failure and thinking that I could have this or that, and I didnt get to do this or that, it is when I turn to Japanese dramas. They teach me how to be content with my life. How to find joy in the little things. How to be grateful for having what I have and being who I am.
Korean dramas that do this for me are the ones I continuously re-watch, and the ones that make it to my top anything list.
But when I want action and suspense at their best, I know Koreans can give me that. Again, not that Japanese aren't able of doing it as well (because they are) but each country has a specialty and a style suited to certain plots, and I want to learn how to capture the dramas that will give me what I want from each country.

I just looked it up. Moon Sun drama. Oh wow... I didnt drop it because I hated it, or disliked it. I dropped it because at the time I didnt want to put up with suffering. And also I dont care for neither of the leads.
Sorry... maybe I will watch it again one day. I have done that before. I drop a drama, and then years later I finish it.
