I think this drama is underrated here in MDL. I have no clue if it was well received when it aired in Korea. However, the characters of this drama are what made me love this drama so much. Everyone that has watched this drama after my recommendation has made a special place for it in their hearts. I don't know if it will end up being one of your favorites, but it will definitely be a drama you will enjoy. How can you not? It is full of tenderness, and love. Just like the title says, this drama salutes all who are full of appreciation for living.
I know what you worry about, don't. I won't spoil it for you, but I will just say there won't be any of what you think. ;)

Hello PrettyCarEye, I'm glad my comment sparked something. However, I didn't say he wasn't handsome, just not the typical handsome Korean among drama actors. With this I meant, he is handsome but not the type of man drama watchers (in the western world) like. Not most of them anyway.
I'm happy to see there are other fans of Lee. I am a fan of Lee since 2004 when I watched his film Addicted and I had no idea what a Korean film was like, but the synopsis of the film together with his alluring face on the cover, made me want to watch it, and from then on I was in love with him and his acting. I think he is the complete package for me.
His age is definitely a factor here in MDL. But my assumption of his looks not being favored among drama fans comes from several friends telling me he is not a pretty boy. He is not.
He is a handsome man. ;)

I was a heavy fan of Soji Sub back in my early drama watching years (2007-2010) But he has declined a bit since he started acting like a fake doll. I just don't get it. What happened oppa? lol Yes. I have oppas in this world.
I still like him in a personal way, and I will continue to support him in the future, or try to, because if he continues to act this way, literally, I can't watch him. I dropped GHOST because I couldn't stand his wooden expressions. I'm just in pain from having to admit, he is not doing a good job *sigh*
I would say, watch his early dramas and be amazed at the change.

Well, being that Time Between Dog and Wolf is my number one favorite drama above all dramas, it has to be Kay.
Lee Jun Ki in that drama was certainly not at his best acting-wise, I think his best acting is from The King and The Clown. He did a great job nonetheless and I was hooked with each episode from the start. I watched this drama first back in 2007 after it aired, and I have to say it was my first time watching this kind of drama (spies and whatnot) from the Korean world, because it really was groundbreaking in the style of storytelling, in the sense that it had a fast paced and contrived storyline, which didn't forget to add the conventional aspects of a Korean drama at the time (and still at present times) like love triangle, bromance, etc.
I think this drama, although most fans of Junki know about it, still is underrated among the drama watchers. Sorry for the mini review. lol

I like the acting (not Soji's. His acting is not improving. I have no clue what is wrong with him, he was so good in What Happened in Bali, also was good in his early dramas, but as of late he has been disappointing me)basically we can say that the main actress is pulling all the weight of this drama for me. She has me hooked just by her great acting. The rest is MEH. Another Hong Sister's drama I don't fancy.

Well it will be the first time I see a drama in which the main lead goes for the supporting character instead of the main character, and, on top of that, the synopsis everywhere say he will fall for Seo Yoon.
Here is a fact, the drama is a chronicles which spans from the 90s to the present time, they are still in the late 90s or early century because the cell phones are the old motorola's. This means the drama has yet to give us another time jump. Eight episodes is enough for all these to happen.
Of course the Golden Empire in the end should not be money or power, but his happiness.

Hahaha. Yes he is underrated because he is not your typical handsome man in dramas, but has got the Korean look that is not common among actors. Strong jaw, thin lips, small eyes. Most Korean actors have the soft look. Yet I think there is something handsome about him. But back to his acting, yep, he is underrated in the drama world among western viewers. In Korea he is a super star, and considered as such everywhere in Asia. Koreans are proud he has crossed boundaries. His acting is really good, that is the main reason why he became my number one. I fell in love with his acting.

This drama deserves a review with a rating of 10. I don't know if I could write such review, but Im thinking about it. I love this drama, one of my top 5 favorite.

Episode 16 and he still is not in love with her, but hints at only wanting to be with Sul Hee.
My theory is they both will lose everything now that Min Jae seems to be winning, and when that happens, both married and with nothing, will probably lead to finding themselves in the process of falling for one another. Hopefully.
