Le Jun Kai... I have to keep that one in mind. I didn't really like Autumn's Concerto because I found it to be just like a typical romance-melodrama just Taiwanese and with hot Vanness. But if you say this one was done better, then I'll give it a try because the story alone wasn't bad, it was just the writing... kinda.

Chinku sorry I took so long to answer you. I have been stressed out about meeting my own datelines lol. *sigh* have not been very successful.

I can't kill you just for that reason, give more reasons then we'll see hahahahahahahaha :p you silly.

Tomorrow is the start of my misery, Golden Empire ends Wednesday and I cannot help but feel something will go wrong. This cannot be this perfect. It never has been. -_-
What do I do in case of rain? I have no umbrella... no worries, I'm not smoking, I'm just blabbing silliness because is very late for me to be awake LOL.

People qualifying this movie has pedophiliac really need to research the law, sexual majority is not a crime,…
In the movie, she goes to jail for having sex with a minor. So it is a crime. He later turns of mature age for sexual relations. It is said many times during the movie how he cannot get a license yet because he is under the legal age. He turns 19 later.
I don't agree with calling it pedophilia either, because under medical terms having sex with an adolescent of the age of 16 or 17 is not pedophilia, is ephebophilia which is slightly different. And forgetting all the technicalities, pedophilia is a mental illness and the woman is not mentally ill, she is just fell in love with an 18 year old boy (whom in Korea, happens to be under age. Let's not forget this movie is Korean and happens in Korea) So, legally she did commit a crime. She had sex with a minor.
Still, terrible movie. It has been done better before.

LOL. Sleepy it is a really good drama about marriage and what love is. I loved it because I can connect with the situations and such, but aside from what I personally think, the acting is great and the story is well paced. But I don't know if you would like it. It's not the comedy we usually watch. Let me know when you give it a try. ^ ^

Yay! For not hating her. I love her. Tehee.
Well the movie is not your cup of tea, I know since you love dark stories. So do I. But it is a refreshing and strange comedy. It had me cracking up at 4 in the morning with the: "how many men did you seduced with your armpit hair?" and "I'm not the only one who has seen your armpit hair!!" and the song at the end was hilarious. I think this is the movie that made them friends, because later she joined him on his documentary/promise film after winning two best actor awards consecutively.
If later when you try Thank You out, you still don't totally like her, then I don't think you will. Because to me, that was her best performance. I have yet to see her in other films and dramas from her early years which gave her the popularity of good actress in Korea.
What else are you watching?

Wow chingu you have to give Golden Empire a try. Most unique drama since A Tree With Deep Root. Sure King of Drama was a refreshing and welcomed change in the romcom world, but still kept the common format; sure Cruel City had me at OST and gangsters in Noir, but the romance part of the plot was forced and unnecessary. Nothing like A Tree With Deep Root which plot was perfectly well written. Until Golden Empire came into the picture... wow. Just WOW.
Nway, I'm coming down my high. lol.
I watched Green Chair last night. Meh. Next.
I did not know about the news. I always learn of things from other people hahaha... but I'm super excited for him, I have to watch this movie of course. ;)
And now I will retire from the drama world and play my Sims. That's right. Im a nerdy ahjumma. ^ ^

Exactly. I love how she is herself, and projects the same energy onto her characters whether they are from terrible Hong Sisters or not hahahaha... I tell ya, I don't know why I even bothered with the Hong sisters anymore, because I can't really get into Master's Sun, just to think I have to watch So Ji Sub over-act and follow a plot-less plot (did that even make sense?) nway, it gives me chills.
I would recommend Thank You. It is a fantastic drama. Gong works there with Jang Hyuk, and I view him with respect because his acting is not bad at all. His character I have to say is the typical jerk who changes, but he plays it with subtleness, and is hard not to fall in love.
I take it then, you watched Fiction Love and liked it?
And I completely agree with you, there is nothing better than doing what you love. ^ ^

Title The Empire of Gold Spoiler
Goddamn, Min Jae just can't seem to catch a break, can he? lol I feel bad for the guy.
See I have a problem with blaming Tae Joo's actions on Choi family. Because a man is it's own dilemma, no one is held accountable for the actions you make. You have choices. Revenge is not the morally correct path in life, and this drama is teaching this lesson, not that you have to take an eye for an eye. Yeah, is all good and cool to see someone raise from the bottom and beat the bad guys, but he is not doing it clean, he is not doing it with honor. Therefor, he is no different from the bad guy. And I cannot respect his actions, and think him an honorable man. His father lived with honor, and wanted him to step up and not be a coward like he was, but with honor still... not taking things from others in dirty ways just because those same people did it. Two wrongs don't make a right. Tae Joo is not doing what's right, not anymore.

Well he kinda kicked himself out, because they all asked him to stay married to Seo Yoon, but he refused because "he has a promise to keep" I'm really glad he got kicked out, he doesn't deserve to win. Seo Yoon does.

I wish I could give Cruel City a 10 base on the OST alone. LOL. Then that would settle my unrest while rating this drama. I didn't know where to go, up or down, but finally gave it what I gave it (forgot sorry).
I first watched this actor in Time Between Dog and Wolf and then I watched him in Smile, You when it came out because it was around that time I was really into Korean dramas and I would watch like 20 at the same time. Which really didn't change much, just the speed... before I was single, and had nothing to worry about. Now... tsk, tsk, tsk.

To be honest, right now I'm watching Golden Empire and it has me on the edge. Every week all I think about is this drama, and when I see new epis up my hurt aches. Literally. I don't know what I will feel at the end, but I think a 10 is in order.... oh darn it, here I go again. Teehee.

I have been trying to stay away from dramas and get more stuff done line, blogs, and house chores. *sigh* I have to get on a schedule with my life, it feels as though time slips away and all I do is sit my behind in front of the screen and I got all these things I want to do, but all I get done is very little if nothing because I end up watching dramas. *phew* that was my mini rant for the night.
So that's what you do for a living. It's really cool. Of course I could never do something like that, I'm kind of shy the very first time I meet someone so I tend to be reserved until they get friendly and then I unleash the tongue and I swear they wish they would have never been so friendly in the first place.
Well, that says everything. I couldn't place him as Choi Min-Sik. I think he is amazing.
BTW your "few scenes where I was nodding off" cracked me up because I did the same.

They drink so much tea! No epi can go without dozen cups of good tea xD On a side note: will there ever be TaeJoo-SeoYoon…
I was just thinking that. OMG, they drink tea every other scene.
If they are sitting down, you can bet they are drinking tea. Unless they are at the dinning table flashing their fangs to one another. Love this drama.

OK I'm glad that it is 24 episodes long since until now Tae Joo still is not in love with Seo Yoon...
At this point I really don't mind if he ends with Seol Hee, they deserve each other. From Seol Hee's point of view, I would never believe that I have to go through great lengths to get the attention of the man who is supposed to love me.
From Tae Joon's point of view, he deserves a woman as weak in heart as Seol Hee, because Seo Yoon is the kind of woman a real man respects and appreciates for her intelligence and strong convictions. Seol Hee's low confidence that she could be loved by someone who truly treasures her, in return would never really be a healthy honest love for Tae Joon. But some kind of obsession, in where she has to get the man no matter what. That's not something you can build happiness on. Yet, Tae Joon can't see this, and continues to betray Seo Yoon for this promise he has made to a woman he practically forced into prison in his stead.
