I read the novel and thoigh I don't think she is a scum I agree is very hard to like her specially in the beginning, she is definetely not a likeable character however by the end you can at least understand her and why she made the choices she made.
I watched this drama a few weeks ago, and I was really impressed by how well the main leads did when they changed bodies. I also loved the visuals, especially the changes in color palette through the drama. This drama was really, really well done, I congratulate all the staff and cast! This article was great too, expressing in words so well everything that the audience felt. congrats
The only time I got a seriius case of SLS was in She Was Pretty, Choi Si Woon's character Won my heart, since them I have closed my heart for all SLs who get into a love triangle
I liked the ending, I thought it was well done in the sense that we get Soo Ho (my fav) to give in to Yeon Jo, and we also get HWS punishment for cheating, after all, it was something KYJ always made clear and I would be disappointed if she never found out, though it was kinda obvious to me that even though she looked for evidence, she was blind to the real clues and without someone telling her or she witnessing it, KYJ would never catch HWS.
This one was one of the best fantasies romances I watched in the last two years, it made sense from beginning to end, it had a clear story progression and still managed to be interesting and captivating, the end made sense and it was much better-explained than most fantasy k-dramas endings are, it really didn't seem like the writers had to make a happy ending out of thin air like I said it made sense. I also agree this is the story of Doom, the tale of his blooming.
I also don't get why people like The Heirs, yes Lee Min Ho is awesome and handsome and so is the SML, but this drama is definitely one I will never understand why people like it..., but as an old Brazilian saying says: "Taste is like the a*s*o*e everyone has one"
Let me be honest, slice-of-life is the best genre of drama for when you are feeling down or anxious or any overwhelming negative emotion. I love the calming pace, it never fails to set me down. The best combination for me - especially in mangas and animes - is slice-of-life and comedy because it becomes sooooooooooooo good. In dramas is nice when you throw some romance in that mix and there you have the best solution for a horrible day, week, month or year, at least for a little while.
I think an interesting difference between them, is exactly their heirs, Queen Elizabeth became one of the most famous rulers of England, while JOJ's son only reigned for a short amount of time and even with the help of the son of Dong Yi, who then became one of the most famous Korean King's while also being an excellent ruler in his time and the one with the reign.
PS: Idk if it's obvious but I really like Dong Yi, so my opinion of JOJ is kinda not the best.
Oh yes dramas can comfort us many times when we need comfort it's also one of the main reason I love dramas. I…
I agree with you about being able to trust again or to be trusted again or to be willing to open yourself to others knowing you can be hurt when you were hurt before, it takes a lot of courage, effort, and therapy, I am certainly still am broken person right now, but I still hope one day I can be repaired even if I still carry marks or scars. Thank you for showing me this new side, I hope to see many more articles like this from you, you are really good, and thank you for responding to my comment :D
I am writing this as I read the article: Man, I also hate SLS soo much, hate love triangles they annoy me sooo much, right now I am watching True Beauty, and dude, do I hate all the suffering my second lead is going through! So unnecessary! Why not be her friend? Why not have his own romance? AAAGH! I think the childhood friends thing can be good and usually I like it or it doesn't bother me, but sometimes is so useless I want to beat the writer-nim like in Oh My Venus, dude, so unnecessary!!!! And finally, I would like to add an item to the list: When the male lead is a total a*sh*le, and I mean, like a real one, and the FL chooses him... Dude, the hate that I feel...
