Because YBY was "accused" of killing FanXian in the first episode of season 2. To protect his family he imprisoned himself to prove his family innocence in what YBY did.

- FX mama is from the past future with uncle WuZhu
- She fled other people from the compound she was in with a book that "created" the masters
- FX is the emperor son
- The 2nd Prince was the mother of all evil since the beginning, he teamed up with the aunt and some Northern Qi officials to get his hands on a huge amount of money over many years for apparently build his own little army.
- ChenPingPing and The Emperor were in cahot to manipulate FX life in a way that would serve them.
- Yan Bing Yun is very possibly the grandson of the Qi general that died in season 1 and who was responsible for CPP losing his legs.

Watching episode 11 with bad translations XDXD but getting the gist of it!

If one want to enjoy on dramalist, one we must not look at the ratings. They are raided, and meaningless, no need to pay attention to them.

Episode 11 really made draw a parrallel between the Drama Rise of Phoenixes and Joy of Life, when the Emperor (fake?) complained about his sons being "cleaned up."

As in ROP, NingYi was brought back to "clean" the kingdom from the downright awful princes who were his brothers by the emperor, and actually in Joy of Life too Fan Xian is being used by the emperor as a tool to suppress/control his other sons.

I feel a bit silly now, because up to now, I somehow thought that the Emperor regarded Fan Xian as a son first, that he could never love openly for largely unknow reasons as of now.

The way FanXian life was awfully manipulated was shouldered by ChenPingPing, but the mastermind behind all this is the Emperor.

He has been using his son life as a tool, a threat, a weapon for all of this time. It's no wonder FanJian is so protective of his adoptive son, he is probably the only one who loves him without expecting anything from him.

The master class in political ploting Fan Xian served us was *chief's kiss*!!!!

When FanXian said: "How dare you slender a prince?", the infernal trio all had an heart attack 😂😂

FanXian trolling them with his hidden identity was not in my bingo card for JOL2 but I'm all here for it 😂😂😂😂

They are not real love interests as you have seen, since FanXian is fully dedicated to Wan'er.

Is he a prince though? Didn't they say in the first season that the emperor was with his mother, but not in an official way or something. It's very likely he doesn't held any statute. Again I know nothing of how prince title works in JOL historical era.

I want my cute bear daddy FeiJie back on screen!!! I've been missing him! It makes no sense that he didnt go straight away to FanXian when he came bak with how anxious he was about his survival!
