Who read the book unbiased knows she is speaking the truth and not “pleasing the fans”. XY and XL were soulmates and even in the end with Jing, she decided to live her life like she did with XL. Is like when Jack gave away his life for Rose and Rose lived to do the things Jack said even with another husband. But Rose knew what Jack did for her, XY loved CL even without knowing how much he loved her, she lived thinking her love for XL was one sided.

If they show XY thoughts when she was in coma being cared by XL, I think you will be clarified on this. She loves XL and would choose him, is XL that pushed her away to Jing.
