That means they trust him. I'm not asking you all to trust him but I also don't want you to accuse him on the bases of groundless rumor.
His career is at line rn. His agency is looking in to the matter but the fact his name was never mentioned in article they couldn't take the actions immediately. If the rumours are false they will file defamation case with the help of lawyers.
For his schedule cancellation, I just think their priority is to clear his name. If he goes to interview without clearing his name he will obviously be asked questions on his interview, when the drama has no connection with the whole situation.
