The main plot of drama was love triangle, at least here they treat it as side story. ML character was problematic which led to SLS. And the SL's character was freaking selfless and was treated like a punching bag which is not like that in this drama.

Yeah exactly, if he was once married it was could have been hard to believe. I feel the same maybe he failed to protect that family or the guy. I'm really curious how deep there relation was which made such a impact on his life that he settle down in Gongjin forever.
