Although YZ frame him MYC has good chemistry with her, maybe the drama intends to do something with their pairing but people out there said many of MYC scenes have been cut out, sadly.

Unpopular opinion from me, Meng Yanchen's scenes are full of depths and sadness. I like this gray character a lot and while I'm not becoming a fan I still think WDX did a good job. Again I can't understand the animosity vibe I felt from this comment area towards MYC and WDX and why many people here keep putting down his acting without even wanting to watch his scenes. Maybe I took the character differently or maybe others are not watching MYC parts deeply.

I found that MYC/WDX is so unliked in this comment section and there are often negative comments about him having too much screentimes which I think he did not, from what I learned his scenes have been deleted by the director. I think the character is a nice 'gray' and flawed character and I feel sympathy towards him throughout because he's just a product of that psycho household, his life is so controlled and he can't break through, his sister is his only salvation. I think the actor is doing a good job too, if only there are less negativity in the discussions from fans it would be healthier.

I wished Yezi was a good girl who can take our suffering and miserable MYC from the psycho mother but it seems she's just a gold digger who'll fake some crime into him. My god why is the plot so dramatic. I think MYC has the saddest fate in the series, I think maybe some who don't understand him have been skipping his scenes...

Yes same here, I think the brother is just vulnerable and miserable, he was also a victim of the family, and from what it seems a pawn of the bar girl too...XQ is his only light, hope she can set him free from his shackles

I do not find him creepy too, I think he look more depressed than XQ which I think because the actress acting is weaker and I can't see the scenes where she's
so depressed and oppressed in the drama, all only being spoken by the characters. I assume both XQ and MYC are new actors because I've never seen before but MYC is doing a better job. I don't know about Chinese social media, I don't even play twitter or IG but we are just watching drama why should we care about other countries social media toxicness, and end up being toxic here too? I doubt anything that happened in the social media there is the actor's fault, maybe the viewers just felt more compelled for his character an acting than the other casts?

Skimming through the comments here I don't know why many people are hating on Meng Yanchen . I found his character sympathetic, he is a victim too of the messed up household, I saw some hating the actor too which I can't understand, I hope it's not just blind hate because his character is a competitor for XQ's love, I have never seen him before but think the actor is fine in his potrayal of MYC despite being new, in fact I think he's potraying his sadness better than the actress who played XQ.

How are the fighting scenes, does it bring nostalgia to BOB films? Is the choreography as great ?

The title of the novel is directly translated as The Legend of Flying Fox. I think they choose "Side Story"~ as the title because Jin Yong wrote this novel as a prequel for Fox Volant of Snowy Mountain/Snow Mountain Flying Fox novel which he wrote first. Both novel contains "Flying Fox" or "飞狐" in their titles.

I just finished HSDS the 2019 version which I ignored before. I think LYS is born to play wuxia heroic characters and agree with the songs.

Jin Yong lives up to his legendary name, I don't think the remakes of his novels is stopping in near future.

I have completed the drama. Until the end I like Zhao Min and YX and the two little kids who played ZWJ the most. Overall it's quite enjoyable, but I still have fonder memories from Alec Su's version of ZWJ, although this new ZWJ is cute too with his big eyes

Maybe because I watched Side Story Fox Volant first, I like LYS as MRF more because although the styling is not much different and both have strong martial arts, he's more quiet and down to earth as MRF. Whereas in this drama YX is always so elegant, shining in light colored clothes and long flowy hair, and confident like a genius LOL

What I loved about this drama the most is the fight scenes are emotional and complement the storyline very well, must kowtow to action director and actors! Some of those fight where you can feel their feelings
