I don't know if it's in purpose by the action design or just coincidence but I think HYD swordmanship is more sturdy and powerful while MRF swordmanship is more exquisite and agile, corresponding to the big knife vs thin sword

The drama doesn't look cheap I agree. The action scenes, props, costumes, musical arrangements, cinematography all look 'expensive' though for a low budgeted drama, if I want to complain maybe a bit of the script and screen time arrangement haha. But don't know the breakdown of the budget, I agree too that there is no publicity unless someone stumbles into this like me while looking for wuxia, and all the actors are unfamiliar to me except Peter Ho, Ray Lui and Leanne Lui so maybe they cut cost there by not casting popular and expensive young artistes now.

Should be no because in this novel she's a child till the end. MRF daughter is a grown up in another novel.
