I think Chinese people, especially Cnets, have different way of understanding about the term professionalism.…
Speaking of unprofessionalism, ZLY comes to my mind off the bat and since she's already being mentioned here I guess it's safe to name her, her fans launch really huge scary attacks so I have to be careful. Its so true! With a strong fan base, the most unprofessional ones always get the most praises and best awards.

Rating is not really important when there is only 6 episodes out. Some people found the first two episodes annoying…
Definitely unfair to watch 2 episodes and leave a super low rating, when you're also dropping and not even watching it too. I noticed shows that gets 9.0 all the way from airing first episode to the last and the final outcome is 8.9. That is if the actress has no one attacking her.

Usually when the first few episodes are starting so low, it will only get harder to increase later. Like A Dream of Splendor, it was around 8.8, within 15 minutes, it went down to 8.3 and now the final outcome is only 8.5. That was definitely an attack bc people hate LYF's having a pretty face.
Makes me wonder who is having so much fans and all of them are also having so much time.

Ok if that's your reasoning but not everyone is willing to support celebrities who cannot compete fair and square. If she wants to cheat by being a liar, I can be ignorant of that since it wil only harm herself back and not the others. But what I cannot be supportive of is a celebrity that hurt others for hher own benefit. It's not just a big turn off, it's unacceptable in my philosophy and I stand by it. Looks like you just deserted your philosophy btw. If I already know a celebrity encourages toxic behaviors, I will boycott them. I'm honestly here to check on and research, I noticed low-rate attacks on shows I'm watching, so I'm just passing by to research. Not here to watch this show, so not even going to say anything. But for all your information about smartphone evolution:
https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Evolution-of-smartphones-and-smartphone-embedded-sensors-over-time_fig1_332973899
Even in 2006, the Nokia smart phones are nothing like what we using now. 2007 is when the first iphone came out and the size is small, not big like rn. Besides, most people can only almost afford flip phones at first. Most can't even afford flip phones at all. There's no way a countryside person will be the first to hold today's big size iphone in the 80s, that's impossible even from 2007-2010 so the 80s is even more impossible.

Hold on there, what did you just say? You treat others the way you wish to be treated and stand up to bullies? Ur....... Can you please explain some of the stuff Vee posted?
From what I seen, there are way too many legtimate proofs of ZLY being a bully. That's why others are "standing up to bullies" like you said. So, do you have valid reasons for why ZLY did those things? And competition is not a valid reason. That's very wrong. I don't see anyone else competing so babariously like ZLY. While other celebrities are working hard and friending other celebrities to compete fair and square, ZLY always drag her costars through the mud. Even when the costar is her husband she keeps dragging him just to salvage herself and earn everybody's pity. Why is she excusable? How?

What? She is one of the most beautiful Chinese actresses that I have ever seen, put your rude opinion somewhere…
Such a heated discussion. But Anachron, are you seriously that shameless?

If what Jenni said is very non-offensive to you, then why do you know how to be so offended too, when others call you a green tea? Don't get offended then, since you don't know how to get offended.

So you only know how to be offended when you're bullied.

But when it's your own child getting bullied, you will never stand up for her?
You have issues, go get a doctor.
You love ganging up on victims, if you see someone getting bullied, you like to add more hurtful things to the victims. Even if the victim is your own child, you will purposely add more pain to her, and then make excuses for the offenders and yourself. You are so inhumane.

It's common logic and basic life skills to know what you say will offend others or not. Obviously what Jenni said was rude and cruel. Just because she's a green tea like you, you're defending her because she is a mirror of yourself. Nobody should be offended by you and her who are bullies.
So whoever is victimized by bullies should never speak back, and nobody shall stand up for the victims, is that it? Go get a doctor!

Tbh, as a huge fan of the show, I was so surprised it had the plot it had so far as I definitely thought it would…
Finally it's not "The Legend of (something)" anymore. But "dream" does make me imagine the main character waking up at the end and everything was just all a dream LMAO. I like the title too, this show is really a splendor. I don't find a thing boring at all, I been through way too many boring things so I will tolerate this rare show.

Title A Dream of Splendor Spoiler
I never knew what legendary talented actress Zhang Ziyi was until I heard of rebel princess and then I started…
ZZY is very popular internationally. There are way too many underrated actresses, like ZZY's colleague, Hu Jing, also a very good dancer.
Here's a clip of Hu Jing, actor Zhao Hongfei I mention is also in this clip as 4th prince. Very sizzling couple too, why I say Chen Xiao reminds me of him.
A friend of Liu Yifei is also in the show, Shu Chang. I don't know if Shu Chang has dancing background but some of her other Wuxia works were also really amazing.

Chen Xiao almost reminds me of Zhao Hongfei a little. I like how they opted for a natural atmosphere and color, it can't beat the traditional golden era from early 2000s but this is the closest I can get. The up-to-date style for ancient garb these days, look really cosplay-ish. This one sits inbetween the modern ancient garb and the traditional one. It does look very tradtional but still has a taste of moderness. But I will still count it as a classic, it is close enough. I didn't enjoy how other agencies like Daylight makes things colorless and empty, sometimes they don't use the right fabrics either. This is really the closest taste of traditionalness I can get after decades.
Liu Yifei is really something. No wonder why Disney auditioned through tons of actresses and took years to find the right Mulan and at the end they picked her. I don't think there is anything she isn't good at, she's very all well rounded like Zhang Ziyi.

Those two dramas are completely different if anybody claims that they’re similar in anyway then there’s something…
I'm starting to hate what I see on Autumn Ballad's forum. Qiao Xin did a phenomenal job compare to what Zhao Liying did in Minglan, but I wouldn't comment on Minglan's forum and say Qiaoxin is way better.

Some of the recent comments was like this,

"I tried my best to like FL, but nah, I really can't...maybe if she was portrayed by a different actress, I would like her more...I guess this is purely personal, I don't really like the actress...the voice, the acting..."

Is she freagen serious? She said no hate, but rated Minglan 10.0 when Zhao Liying stuttered so much in there, and she said she has problems with Qiao Xin's speech, Hm? Shrug! Then she goes to her Minglan's forum and posted this there,

"I came back here because I miss Ming Lan so badly!
Recently watched a drama with a strong FL, but it totally failed my expectation...I guess, nothing can bet Story of Ming Lan!"

I also noticed AvenueX complained about Qiao Xin's speech, so I went back to see her Minglan reviews, and Fug! She didn't mention any shigs about Zhao Liying random pauses in all her speeches. SHM!
She always make trivial things sound like they're the biggest mistakes ever made.

However when it comes to her fave, she lets her off the hook over very significant shortcomings.

She knows that most C-netz actually have issues with ZLY's unprofessionalism. In the industry for super long, but never want to work on her speech and even forget her scripts. She's only dependent on other stars being nice and helping her out by praising her, but she doesn't do the same back for them.
OFC AvenueX wouldn't share these with intl fans, but she backs up her opinion about Qiao Xin's poor speech by saying C-netz agreed with her it's really bad. AvenueX is a lot more amazing and smarter than ZLY IMO.
To be a successful actress, make sure your fans are better at acting than you because they are the ones that will sail the ship for you.

Unfavored daughter and evil step mother is a recurring theme in every period drama.
I find Ju Jingyi always playing that type of theme but everything she's in are so repetitive and poorly received, so I never see any comparisons with ZLY.
Usually, only if something is receiving too much positive attention, usually with bigger budget, such as The Sword and Brocade, then ZLY fans will always come to do their jobs and destroy other people hard work.

Aw! Thanks, I usually like to rate once the show finishes. Yes I agree about the antis, it is very unfair. So Imma just vote now and stand by my 10/10. This is very unfair. This show has no eng sub on YT or anywhere now right? There's already 77 Chinese speakers voting this so low.

WHAT A LOW RATING!

I was never amazed by Dilreba ever before, not even in The Long Ballad.
This is the first show that clicks and I'm finally a fan. I like this pacing very much, I can't stand slow place because that's just pure laziness. I'm so glad to see something finally moving at an appropriate speed like this, only 8 episodes but they made great progress.

Other than Dilireba's character, I love the other ladies characters very much too. Qing Shu is more than just that side character to load time. She is very charismatic in her own way. I didn't know the bird woman is actually the great singer Sa Ding Ding! I love love how she dances and drinks. They have really great casts here.

Qing Shu's romance didn't require that much explanation but I'm sold on her romance, however I felt forced when it comes to Dilireba and Allen's romance. I wouldn't even mind if they don't film those romance scenes, instead they could've focus more on the action parts. It feels like the main villains are kindof doing nothing, I'm not interested in them taking over screentime but it's just that I don't really feel their intensiveness or power, while the subordinates are more intense the way they keep fighting against each other. Still, I don't really care about those flaws. This is pretty good so far, I will still give this 10/10 for the first 8 episodes. It's rare to get something with this type of pacing, and the story is interesting, great acting, great camera angles too. If I can see the hard work and effort, it deserves all the points. The only things I will not tolerate are lazy things. All the actors here have great talents, I'm glad the director here is not wasting their time and talent.

I think lots of the articles ZLY's PR team are writing about many other actresses are too inconsiderate and unexcusable. I hope ZLY will discontinue that type of PR. It does not do her any good but harm. I honestly think C-dramas lack good writing and hardwork since 2010. ZLY unfortunately becomes famous around that time, I commend her for her beauty but I am yet to be amazed by any of the dramas she's in. They are just not comparable with the older stuff I find very professional. There is a very huge overmarketing for The Story of Minglan that I still find incomparible to anything random from 2008 and below. I hope her PR team will not act aggressive and oppressive anymore when they make comparisons of The Story of Minglan with other productions. As a long time drama watcher, The Story of Minglan's extra slow pacing is quite an insult to what a true slice of life should be like. True, slice of life can seem slow, but honestly they are progressing every minute, nothing wasted away. The Story of Minglan is too intentionally slow and there are too many flaws. Such as the moment she grows up into a lady, she reveals her other personality (the bright side) to way too many people around her and that's when the 2nd male lead also found out from the start, but she isn't afraid how he knows her deepest secret, she just take him as a fool. Then it also turns out the ladies she reveals her intelligence to are not even that close to her for her to show them her secret, no one can be that stupid to not notice such a huge change of personality many times. I respect fans opinion, but please don't act oppressive anymore, by all means it is no master piece, just any regular idol drama people like because their idol is in it. There isn't a need to ridicule another drama to make this one sound better. I'm also glad she was chosen to get casted in a Daylight Production. I hope her projects will continue to be better and rely less on marketing.

Other than Palace, Huang Tai Zi Mi Shi made in 2004 was another drama set during Kangxi's ruling. It's also loosely based on the princes fight for the throne. The leads were so boring that only the 4th prince's romance with Zi Ying got subbed, also my favorite couple in the show. Love how fiesty Zi Ying is, the actress is a colleague of Zhang Ziyi and both are great dancers. She did her fighting scenes so graceful. I hope Liu Shi Shi will play a similar role like this in the future, her background and talent is also very similar to them.

I was just thinking Zhao Lusi, Esther Yu, and Zhao Zhaoyi need to work together as the fluffy sisters. They are the only actresses from the newer generation that can act fluffy without being annoying. What they have in common is, they are very fluffy in real life, no wonder why they come off so natural. That's alot of big casts together, I wonder if it will be a dream comes true. It's really sad how artists with the same amount of popularity today can no longer work together like the past.

I'm glad to see Xu Jiao again.
If anyone remembers Stephen Chow's CJ7, the little boy in there was actually a girl. That was Xu Jiao. Stephen Chow was one of the harshest directors ever.
She was also in Wudang 2012 with Vincent Zhao, Yang Mi, and Louis Fan.

Actors like Zhang Ruoyun and Allen Ren look awfully young despite their ages. I notice so much complaints about casting Li Gengxi but I am glad they picked her. Zhang Ruoyun is a smaller size man and his face is so tiny. Li Gengxi looks like a perfect match when they stand together. Her role also requires lots of youthful vigar so she is the perfect candidate. I like Zhang Tianai and her role, trust me you don't want to ship her with anyone or else it will turn Mary Su quickly, she will always faint and he needs to save her. The roles like Nangong pushe are those kind you like them because of a respect, not because of wanting to fondle or see them get fondled.

On the story, it looks like she's picking the suitor with highest rank. 😂 Good choice, I will hope all his other qualities will be the best from the others. He looks awfully young!
