I cannot with Xu Lina. Like girl, Li Xun doesn't like you at all and doesn't care about you what so ever 🙄 I would have understood her logic if Lu Xin got into a relationship with her but none of that happened. Li Xun also never gave her attention 😒
I dont understand how Xu Lina insists that she genuinely like Li Xun but she never got to even know him all that well. To me she comes across as someone who just likes him because he was popular and still is a smart/skilled person.

Gao deserves everything bad that he has coming for him! Gao only cared to be #1 but didn't even see the faults he had in his skills or in running a company. I think yes L&P is a big company in the present, but everybody sees it as a company that copies every foreign game that comes out.
The fact that Gao teamed up with FZJ just shows how much of a snake he is.
So annoyed at the parents 🙄. They repeatedly tell Zhu Yun that she is a grown adult but won't let her make her own decisions what so ever. She should be able to make her own decisions and learn from her failures. After he did that to FZJ as a parent I wouldn't want him to be with my daughter too but before all of this they didn't try go get to know him at all. The least the mom could have done is try go get along with him and know him better. If she still didn't like him after getting go know him then at least her daughter knows she tried.
On another note in the present time, I do wonder how they are going to handle Gao. I do remember from ep 1 that L&P doesn't do what Lu Xin originally intended to do with the company. So even though L&P is good economically speaking I don't think their image is that good since they copy every foreign game that come out...

I think we can all agree that Zhu Yun's parents have good intentions. I'm not a parent but I know that if i was a mom I would want the best for my child as well. However, Zhu Yuns mom has been too extreme in deciding everything for her. The fact of the matter is that whether she was with Li Xun or not, Zhu Yun herself didn't know if she wanted to go abroad at all. She is not going against her mother's wishes because she just wants to be rebellious. Being with Li Xun and starting L&P with him was something she genuinely wanted to do.

Completely agree with you! The mom has obviously never been in the position to understand that the rules are not applied the same to everyone especially if you come from poverty. I also think it's insane that the mom works in a school and thinks that nothing good can come from a child who is poor or comes from that SES background! Being poor doesn't mean that a boy will be trouble later on.
Now that FZJ has managed to sent Li Xun in prison, I feel his purpose is done but knowing how cunning he is there…
Through out the whole 20 episodes I always wondered why he came to betray Lixun. However Gao also gave me the impression of students who go to top universities (e.g. Harvard) and struggle not being the top of the class or the "smart kid" anymore. Only instead of accepting this, working on himself and other areas of his life, he just thinks that getting rid of Li Xun is the way for him to succeed.

Have not watched ep 21 yet but having to watch the mom be so judgemental towards Li Xun without really knowing anything has been sooooo annoying! Not only that but the way she decides everything for Zhu Yun! I don't understand how the mom is surprised that her daughter is rebelling. If anything the mom controlling Zhu Yuns future shows the lack of trust she has in her as much as she (the mom) has good intentions.

Hello to anybody reading this! For me it had been a while since I watched a kdrama and I was glad that I did give those drama a chance. I don't typically watch dramas that are overhyped because some just don't live up to the hype. However I think that this drama did not disappoint and deserved the hype! I do have to agree with some comments that the drama could have been longer to explore/solve certain conflicts. Another thing is that the last episode did feel rushed but I was okay with it. To anybody who may be debating on watching it, I would definitely recommend it!
I completely agree with you! I was excited to watch this remake when news came out but I honestly could not watch beyond the first episode. I think that Shen Yue brought an innocence to her character along with this cuteness but it was never overwhelming like the actress in this remake.The cinematography/videography was another thing that I felt was better in the original version as well!

I really liked your review on it since it compared the 2019 version. I also always wonderesd if anyone else had watched the 2019 version so, when i found your review I was happy that there a couple of other people who felt the same about this 2021 version!
Also,I didn't know they were making it into a movie.I will definitely watch it once it comes out subbed!
I also watched the 2019 and completely loved it. After hearing about the 2021 remake I had high expectations about it but was really disappointed on how Luo Zhi was portrayed, how they didn't put importance to the window scenes like you had mentioned, and the story of other characters like Baili.
Overall I feel like the storyline made more sense in the 2019 version than this 2021 version. I do have to say that I haven't read the book either so i thought that this version which has longer episodes would have more detail from the book but it seemed like it wasn't as well explained the history that Luo Zhi had with Sheng Huai Nan.
