well it is natural for some parent to find it hard to accept their children is in a relationship with partners…
I'm not a parent but I understand the sentiment that parents have if the child isn't making, what the parents think is, the right decisions. I think that it's something that any parent feels regardless of culture. However, as a non-asian watching these dramas with controlling parents I feel like im being suffocated too. The sadder thing about some dramas is that most of the time they're not rebelling they're just working a job they like or dating someone they genuinely like but the mom thinks they're rebelling against them 😭.
After watching a clip on tiktok I decided to give this drama another try. I originally started watching it when it came out but decided to drop it because it kind of bored me or got annoyed with the mom(?) I don't really really remember, but I'm so surprised that there are many who dropped and rewatched. I thought I would be the only one! I guess with this particular drama it's common.
This is a feel good/relaxing drama! I liked it but couldn't finish it because I wanted to watch something with more drama to it. There's really no big misunderstanding or someone getting I'm between the leads. I recommend if you want to watch something cute and fluffy.
Started watching for Chen Jinke 🙈 and Sun Qian but now I'm watching just to see how these family problems are resolved. I like that the drama shows different types of relationships that mothers and daughter have and romantic relationships. If I had to be honest, I would lose my mind if I had a mom like Yijin's. Makes me feel more grateful that my mom (and dad) isn't like that or ever pushed something on me.
i agree! the actor is so good, the actress is terrible. whoever dressed her up make her less appealing and make…
I think it's a difference in preference because I felt like they dressed her well. The fashion wasn't too over the top like korean dramas. I think dressing her in oversized clothes or normal pajamas when she was "home" was the realistic part of it. Even the bags she was given to use for the drama were not too expensive and didn't make me think "how is she an intern and have multiple expensive bags 🤨". Also there are multiple Chinese or Japanese fashion trends that I have seen in dramas way before that are now in western fashion.
Li Yi Nan's acting is really quite good. He's more talented than many big-name actors who seem to get roles just…
Now that I’m thinking about it, his acting is really good (including everybody else’s). His emotions and actions all felt believable, especially when he started acting jealous. His acting really is natural! Its probably why I’m enjoying this drama so much despite the production not being the best. I hope I can see him as a main role in many more dramas!
she actually really mature id say... maybe the first episode she's immature but takes her new life really seriously…
I would agree with this comment as well. She might have been immature the first couple episodes but becomes mature as she works and realizes the economic positions she's in.
Originally wanted to use this drama as background noise but I ended up watching it 🙈. It's surprisingly a good drama. The CG isn't the best but the acting and plot is good. If you just want something lighthearted to watch and dont mind that its not a big production, give this drama a try.
You can find it on youtube with eng subs!
P.S. there are parts in the episodes where there's no audio.
I first watched the Japanese movie and I really liked it! I heard there was a Chinese remake and did not doubt that the remake would be good. I stumbled upon on it on youtube with subs! I was not going to watch it because I'm not much of a rewatcher but I'm glad I did.
Although both movies have the same name and have the same synopsis, they turn out to be completely different! If you have watched the japanese one, do not expect them to have the same progression. Both were really good when it comes to cinematography and acting! Personally, I prefer the Japanese one a bit more just because it drew out more emotions for me.
If you haven't watched either versions, I highly recommend to watch both!
Loved it!Can someone recommend me movies/jdrama like this?
This is not a jdrama but it’s a cdrama called Unrequited Love. It’s one of my favorite dramas! It has two versions but I personally liked the older version a bit more than the newer one. Another Japanese movie that is a bit similar to this is one called Love me, Love me not. It has that one-sided love plot but is less happy and less bright than this movie.
I loved this movie! When I read the plot, I was intrigued and kept checking in on it to see if it was finally subbed. The plot is definitely cliche but when you actually watch it, the acting and directing doesn’t feel cringy or cliche. There wasn’t any misunderstandings that dragged out too long. Without giving away too much, I especially like that the movie ended in a full circle way. If you like the one-sided love plot like I do, I recommend you to watch it!
p.s. this review might be biased because I am a sucker for the one-sided love plots.
I know there was many people here who thought that Tang Xin was being to rude to Tang Yu when he was pursuing her. However, I don't feel like she was being too rude or that it was dragging out too much. This is just a drama but realistically, I wouldn't want anything to do with the guy either even if he realized he liked me. That's how I see it. However, because she still liked him and he was working hard to get her back, I feel like the progression of the their relationship was good.
all the characters fit their roles. but the female lead was a red flag, secretly taking photos and forcibly kissing…
I agree! when I was watching the first episodes, I did think it was weird for her to have that many pictures of him but I dismissed it. Other than that I like the drama
So grateful I gave this drama a chance! Personally, this year I didn't have many Chinese dramas that sparked my interest like last year. However, I feel like this drama has everything I've been wanting to watch. I especially like how it started with her liking him but him working hard to get her attention after rejecting her. I find that trope so refreshing for some reason 🙈Also there's actors that I've seen in other dramas!
Started watching it because I saw some clips of it on tiktok and I am hooked!
This is my speculation (I could be totally wrong): I feel like segyeong's first love isn't yichan or eungyeol . l 😖. Eunyu was is in 1995 to meet Eungyeol rather than to know about her mom (●_●).
how can i skip eun yu's scenes without affecting of my understanding plot?i tried to skip her boring scenes but…
I thought I was the only one that felt this way about that character 🙈. I love Seol Inna, she's such a great actress. However, at least at this point of the drama, I don't care for Eunyu. I did skip her parts in one episode because what I really wanted to watch the were the chungha, yichan and eungyeol moments. Other than that I am interested to see how eungyeol and eunyu come to know that they are both from 2023 and what happens after.
I guess it is coz of your anticipation. You know they will be a couple at a certain time in the future. But they…
Could be. When I first heard about the plot I didn't think that there would an age gap of 4+ years. I also think that after they got together I just lost interest in what happens later and to the other characters. Also tiktok has so many spoilers!
This drama was one that I was anticipating but for some reason it didn't grab my attention enough to really keep watching it. I would say that this may be partly due to the age gap. While the age gap is not big in the story, the child actor that they had portray the FL looked so much more younger than the age she was suppose to portray so I just found it weird despite the ML getting feelings after the FL was grown up.
I would say if you don't mind these things that I mentioned, this drama might be a good watch for you!
Really enjoyed watching this drama as it was coming out. It was a drama that I always looked forward to watch at night! I think what I liked most about it was the fact that it wasn't fast paced. However, like many mention here, I wished that these last two episodes weren't so rushed and could see more growth from the Male Lead Suhyeok. Now, the ending was not bad at all, but the chaos that was dropped on episode 13 could have been solved a lot better. If there was maybe 1 or 2 maybe the ending would have been better.
I hope I can see him as a main role in many more dramas!
