Borderline SA, Desperate, Controlling, Manipulative, Practically inserted himself into her FL life like a stalker. Cannot and will not take NO for an answer. Worst of all, actually started harassing FL after she rejected him.

Definitely can be considered worse than ML.

But wouldn’t you say she was a bit too friendly with SML all while knowing he likes her? She can’t exactly strike up a friendship with SML, he clearly wants more.

Also, her feelings for ML/her relationship with ML was quite fast tracked. She should’ve put up some boundaries with SML out of respect for ML. This whole “I like seeing you jealous so I’m gonna get friendly with other guys that LIKE ME” doesn’t really make sense.

And again, I’ll allude to the fact that how close FL gets with SML (despite knowing he has feelings for her while dating ML) is partly why SML thought he’ll replace ML and he’s starting being a grade-a jerk to ML

SML is a narcissist and a hypocrite whose a** should be jealous of his mouth cuz the amount of BS that comes out of it. The way he’s been awful to our ML is just plain awful

But, as some of you are correctly pointing out, FL behavior doesn’t help at all. This entire time she doesn’t draw boundaries with SML, and even staying close to him despite being fully aware of SML liking her. And she’s seems to be enjoying the attention SML too. No wonder she gets a bad rep. She is clearly giving SML false hope/ammunition for him to spew a bunch of nonsense at ML

Most “nice guy” SMLs will go along with FL and be echo chambers for them just to get a chance. And you’ll see people go crazy with “oh SML is such a green flag”. Also, these SML always act as a grade-a jerk to ML and never face any consequences

They’ll never challenge FL and point out whenever she’s doing something wrong like ML is doing now

Next episode is going to be a dedicated/exclusive episode for FL x SML
That definitely suggests the opposite of short-lived love triangle

It’s completely normal/appropriate for FL to react the way she did over a close friend.

It’s just the show failed to showcase that close bond between FL and SML. The writers simply didn’t do enough to convince us of their friendship. It didn’t help when they made SML have romantic feelings for FL the entire time. I mean you can’t really call it a friendship if one of you feel more. They definitely should’ve kept things between FL and SML vague. Like with Blossom

If that is FL with Ye Xian cuz you find Winwin attractive, so be it?? There is no need to play mental gymnastics.

Having standards is bad now? Sml wasted a good chunk of his life waiting on FL to settle for him

What makes Ye Xian any different from your tsundere ML we typically see in youth cdramas?

Is he not just acting his age? Young enough to not know how to regulate his emotions so he often lash out? Or is there more nuance to his character?

EDIT : I personally think the actor is doing a good job portraying the character

100% spot on for Cheer Up(kdrama) SML as well

We are over a third of the way through the drama and ML is more like a glorified guest character. Only shows up in the last two minutes of each episode in case we forget

Although I doubt SML will offer anything other than the guy that gets the short end in that love triangle

The issue with SML having main role in a non-love-triangle-centric drama is that this character typically has no storyline aside from being one of FL’s love interest/suitor.

We already saw that in Sunbae Universe where entirety of SML screentime was him wooing FL and going on dates with her. And look how that turned out.

That said, we don’t have a small child for FL to have ML babysit so she can go on dates with SML unlike Sunbae Universe.

We can agree to disagree. Although I strongly feel if ML isn’t in the picture and/or if ML character isn’t the main “male lead”, FL one hundred percent would’ve gotten together with SML.

Also, if you ever come across my comments on other dramas on this site, you’ll have a clearer picture on how I feel about delulu SMLs with their one sided love for FL and second lead syndrome itself - (Cheer Up 2022 e.g.)

Let’s put it this way.

Have you ever watched a romance/romcom and thought “well, FL& ML are going to like each other and end up with each other cuz they happen to be playing the main roles in a romance/romcom”?

There was nothing natural about how the leads fell for each other. FL got to see how much pain ML is in and she feels pity for him. That was somehow twisted into her loving him. ML also fell for him for no real reason as well. Again, mistaking pity for love.

And guess what? With FL&SML the show actually took time to build up their dynamic/relationship in a natural and organic manner. FL actually meets SML first and they quickly strike up a friendship. They did lots of hanging out in the first few episode. Lots of screen time for just the two together. Of course, SML fell for FL at first sight so all their spending time together SML definitely saw that as their romance blossoming. SML character is also pitiful cuz essentially ML just came in and stole FL from him. ML is definitely a villain in SML story.

To summarize, at first the show gives you 101 reasons why FL&SML should be together only to then bring in ML and forced a romance between ML&FL. At least, that’s what I got from putting everything into context.
