27 years old acts a high school mangaka... Clashing for me this time. However Kamiki Ryunosuke as Shuujin was very good. About whole movie I don't know what to say. It wasn't bad or outstanding. Just quite good but without fireworks. Saiko's character didn't convince me this time. And I don't think drawing in quite dark room is good idea (for your eyes as for your work). Oh and it's such shame that Aoki-sensei didn't appear. Was it uncomfortable to the movie makers to show a woman can be mangaka too? Just curious. Graphical presentation of battle between Saiko x Shuujin and Eiji only took time which could be used for the plot. So it would feel rushed a little less (not it was that bad - rushing, but why waste the time?;)).
can you explain more about the misogyny to me? i'm thinking about watching this but i don't wanna watch it if…
I wouldn't call that "misogyny" but the title is surly misleading (or bad translated). It's not "I don't WANT to" but I-just-somehow-didn't". At first she's telling everyone that she doesn't feel the urge to get married to anyone (but in fact she's waiting for the great guy she can have babies with eventually - which is very naive imo) but one comment from extremely irritating cook is sufficient for her to decide to actively start looking for a boyfriend; coming back(!!) and listening to (!!!) the cook who criticizes her value on marriage market (the fact that she's beauty, is successful at work and is 39 years old - if I remember correctly). And she sometimes acts more like 20 yo, so generally I'm disappointed with her character.
I have to mark that I'm in the middle of 3rd episode, but I don't think I'll finish it. Maybe I'll go for spoiler because if she's gonna end with the cook I'm gonna drop it for good.

Try not to disable adblock completely . I recommend no script because you can choose what to (un)block on every site. Sometimes to block something make it work better:D
Oh I see (and I can see it now). Thank you very much for enlighten me:D

I'm using Chromium on Linux Mint and it tend to stop as if it were end of the movie, but I kept refreshing and few times it worked so I managed to finish. Now I specially checked how it'll be on Firefox (on Linux too) and it worked even better - I disabled only ublock, have ghostery and noScript on. Just allow veoh.com and wait 35 seconds to load the movie. Hope it helped! (let me know if it did:))
(strange thing, I remember writing a comment after finishing the movie, and you're mentioning it too, but I can't see it now. Did it get deleted for some reason?)
Oh how I hate lady's Jung character, she was sooo pathetic. I've watched one of the western version of the story some time ago - but when starting this I didn't linked it, just forgot about that - and when the scene of seducing So Ok came I've started to wonder if I had watched this movie already;D because it felt so familiar (aka the same) and I was sure that I've seen this but couldn't remember watching this korean movie (+ it's not on my list)). It's solved now. Korean copied this scene which is rather disappointing. When I come across a remake version of something I prefer to watch - yes, pretty much the same story but - with different approach. Or even make some changes or twists. Showing the exact same thing is just boring. Overall I didn't like the whole movie. Nor the staging was beautiful nor music was outstanding.
I just finished watching and I just want to know why can't I find romantic hetero scenes like in this movie?!…
Allow me to answer;) Because there's no character to put in such scenes:D
I've just finished it and I'm impressed. More than 2 hours but it's interesting for all the time. I just feel that those "romantic" (I would say slightly pornographic;)) scenes between Hideko and Sook Hee were too long. Not that such content bothers me but it felt like it's for showing nudity and (in this case) somewhat lesbian know-how only.
Someone has said it already but I'll repeat that only ending of uncle and "count" was unsatisfactory - I'd rather if "it" was "touched";D However it'll still be poor scene.
Summarizing I enjoyed the movie, I can recommend it (to the mature audience only ofc) and I rate it quite high (9 or 8,5).
I've found it on polish site and it was marked as a comedy... I didn't know anything about this movie but I've started it because I saw "Mal Soon" (Na Moon Hee- I know her from Miss Granny - one of my fav movie). When I recognized it's not a comedy it was too late - I had to keep watching. Very sad, touching movie - although first part had funny moments. It's heartbreaking what happened to "comfort women" and that this kind of story will happen many many times in the future . Because sex slavery it's part of every war.
I would say more melo than drama. Disappointing because at first I loved the comedy but with every next episode there came more MELO and dramatic DRAMA (plus the main nostrils were sometimes distracting - to the point of noticing them). I didn't liked scenes that were made only to suppose to be romantic when it wasn't logical to go there/act like that for character. Treating Bak Ha as maid and ordering her to do laundry for everyone and bring water to their guest seemed unfair to me.
I really wonder where that high rating came from. I give it (weak) 6.
"Change your bad habit of reading only meaningless romance and cheap romance novels." Really Yeorim? that hurt :< (just kidding;))
Despite it was slightly poorly realised I enjoyed the show. It was fun and cute. I think it's very similar to Hana Kimi - that feeling accompanied for almost the whole drama. Still some plot points were dull or just stupid (like burka style memory portrait which was supposed to be an evidence)
After watching this I'm in the mood to rewatch Hana Kimi:D but not sure which version.
As for me it's not only cheesy. Some parts of the romance were irritating to watch eg. their kiss next to umbrella. Kang Joo Eun was way too - I'm not sure how to put it - sotf? indecisive, when she's a lawer? couldn't support someone who's in pain? (I guess she took one of the worst possible way) So Ji Sub... is kinda stiff with his one-and-only face expression. I wonder how he does that - because it doesn't look like relaxed face muscles. When Henry Lau was calling Shin Min Ah "ma'am" over and over AND OVER, I felt annoyance. Way too much. However I laughed my ass off when he's imitating Jang Yi Jin :D
I have no idea where such high note came from... The only good point was comedy. How could've they managed to…
The worst thing I guess was romance between Yoo Hyun Jae and Choi Woo Seung. When they didn't know who they it was already strange but later it was just abnormal (to date a guy who's your friend's alleged father who didn't take responsibility for his child).
Secondly, too much of weird romance - breaking into someone's flat to put photos of him in many weird locations. Buying tons of make-up cosmetics. These were unpleasant to watch.
I have no idea where such high note came from... The only good point was comedy. How could've they managed to make every side story so boring? Yeah this drama is boring. And when at first Yoon Shi Yoon's acting was funny. Later it's irritating:/ Other flaws are spoilers so I'll mark them properly;)
Fantastic drama! (yeah there were some cliches but let's say it's for fun and laughing;)) Lee Yi Kyung with long hair :D Strange I was sure he played in Reply (but couldn't remember in which) . And I've missed Kim Mi Kyung - the Ahjumma because it was a long time since I've drama with her ;) One litre of tears, that's what this drama is for me. But yet it's hilarious and I've laughed many times (not only because impossible damsel in oppression rescue). I know I'll rewatch it someday. OST is pretty good too.
Well I, for one, liked it very much. I see all the flaws, but I just don't care - I wanted a fun watch to distract…
Totally agree. I prefer more realistic dramas with well planned story and non overly dramatic acting but I really enjoyed The Emperor. I'm wondering why actually, when the storyline was that weak (esp. the poison thing), some actors tend to exaggerated from time to time (or more often) and so on. Other people wrote the flaws so I'm not gonna point them again. Still so many weak points yet I continue watching. I won't be original if I say Yoo Seung Ho's character took part in that process ;) Oh and the little girl came to my liking while I'm not big fan of children actors. I'm curious if she'll become a professional actor.

Overall - I dropped it after 9 episode.
Nice drama, light and funny. I've even wished it was longer. Gotta find "shut up" song.
