This feels like what Sa Ye would look like if / when they ever get the courage to make it a drama or a movie.…
If they didn't make the laws 10 years ago, China would be the leader in BL. They were producing great content mostly on shoestring budgets.

That was never a problem with JBL. They have talented writers. Does not mean they couldn't botch the script, but…
When every other page of the manga is the couple having sex, that poses a problem. But there are a few volumes so I'm sure they can work it out. The cast looks like they fit the roles. I haven't watched it yet, but thanks for letting me know that it has a good start.

When I had written a negative comments and review for We are, I got accused of being hater who can't enjoy simple…
I liked We Are (should have been 12 episodes though), and I like Love Sea, but I'm not a fan of MLMU Thai version. I don't hate it, but could drop it and be okay with it. I have read the manga and watched the Japanese version, and I know that is influencing my opinion. I am a very lenient and generous critic, I like almost everything, even shows other people hate, but I can't get on board with this. I think that Gemini and Fourth are excellent actors, so it must be the writing and direction. In contrast, I read the manga, watched the film and am now watching the series, Hidamari ga Kikoeru and am not having the same content fatigue. I'm more disappointed that I feel this way.
On My Love Mix-Up! Aug 6, 2024
I like Gemini and Fourth but I am not really into this series, partly because I've read the manga and watched the JBL version, and this does no do justice to the source material. This should have been an 8 episode series. I even started on Episode 3 and realized that I should have waited until episode 6. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. The eraser club and the handshake is just silly.

Wad threw caution—and her father’s approval—to the wind for true love, ditching her fiancé, Prince Trai,…
I usually watch the 2 releases back to back, but I'm not going to lie, I hate the "Titanic" type love story between Wad and San. Partly because I don't believe in love at first sight, or soul mates, but as a parent, I would also be concerned about my child completely shaking up their lives for a person they do not really know. Not that I would force a marriage either though, but I live in 2024, so I have the room to make those decisions, but I hope that I would be that way in 1924. Thailand still doesn't have social security, I've seen many elderly women begging in Bangkok, so I also understand not wanting my child to marry a person of San's background until he could prove financial stability. As you describe, it's all very complicated. They all are trying to make the "best" decisions from their own perspective, giving only small thought to the other person's POV. This is why I was actually enjoying how San fell in love with Wee, as himself, not as Wad. Since the family is not going to be a barrier in this incarnation, we will see if it is true love, or if all are still out for their own agendas.
On Century of Love Jul 31, 2024
I had to binge this and just got to episode 6. Although I could do without the death scene being played multiple times per episode, what I like is, they show the spirit is reincarnated, not the person. Each life is a different person. Same goes for Third and this Wad look a like who is probably genetically related to her. The true test is, does San really love Wee, or a ghost from 100 years ago? I also enjoyed the twist with the Grandma lol.

I'm not sure how they are going to make this work. They will have to cut out so much material because there are so many love scenes in the manga series.

I was wondering if it was the dread study abroad application. They haven't put Ep 2 on Youtube yet, but I'm hoping that they put a title underneath the paperwork.

I'm glad that the oyaji lovers are finally getting a series. Much will depend on how Sakai plays Ishida because that character can go sideways with the wrong actor. I love the manga and since there are no photos of Kaoru posted, I hope they keep him scruffy.

why the plot looks like Jinx Manga...is it only me?? not that explicit but the plot kinda gives Jinx vibes like…
Not to me. No rape, abuse, in Wandee Goodday. Yak is humble nothing like the ml in Jinx (can't remember his name right now). I wish Dan had a Yoryak. I feel that Jinx is more like My Stand-in as far as the relationship dynamic. Plus the other dude is MMA, Yoryak is a boxer.
On Takara's Treasure Jul 23, 2024
I really love the Taishin character. People always ask for realism in BL, well we finally have a protagonist who is naive, socially awkward, who is trying to understand feelings that he has never had before. The Taishin character is also not being portrayed in a comedic fashion, like they are usually. What I love about him is that you do not have to "read the air" with Taishin. Japanese social interactions are about reading the air, and with Taishin, you have a character who is straight forward in a culture that is way more comfortable with being indirect and vague. When Taishin is speaking to Takara, he uses n-desu form when they are walking home. He even tries to use Takara's first name, but is rebuffed, which was such a cute scene.

Ever wonder why Taishin is so clueless that it’s almost like he’s living in his own little world?I get it—Taishin’s…
What also makes Taishin refreshing is, you do not have to "read the air" around him. For the most part he will state what he is thinking.
On Wandee Goodday Jul 23, 2024
The last episode was not up to the standard of rest of the series. I think much of the problem was the manufactured, lame, study abroad plot line that was not in the novel. The other major change was Yak's mother being deceased. GMMTV's weakness is they always have to insert unnecessary drama, like study abroad, or meddling ex. I understand why the closed the age gap for the cry babies, but other major changes brought the series down a notch.

Title We Are
I loved this show. A nice slice of life without over the top angst. Nobody has to take a once in a lifetime scholarship abroad, no parents pressuring for a breakup and the tsundere characters actually show their partners love. Satang is one of my favorites at GMMTV, so I'm looking forward to seeing more of his work.
On Bake Me Please Jul 22, 2024
This was okay, maybe a new to BL viewer series. I put this off because I could not grasp Ohm without Fluke, and I didn't even finish 7 Days before Valentine's mainly due to disliking the main character. Now I know that it wasn't Atom, but the 7DBV story and direction. Poor Poom, I hope he finds a series where I care about the main couple. I did not want Joe and Ming to end up together in My Stand-In, and I didn't care if Shin and Peach got together in this show. I would like to see Oab and Joe get a special episode.

Baseball bat + Kidnapping + Unlawful Detention = Toxic contribution to Joe's death.

Both Iwase and Konishi are doing a fantastic job. Since Iwase is conventionally attractive and tall, his role is easier, but Konishi is knocking it out of the park. I'm glad they are also sticking to the source material too. I'm just impressed.
